Nationwide gas prices hit an all-time high in the last two weeks, rising nearly 2 cents to just over $3 per gallon, according to a survey released Sunday.
The national average for self-serve regular stood at $3.0150 a gallon Friday, up 1.98 cents in the last two weeks, according to the Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations across the country.
The price exceed the previous high of $3.0117 set in September last year, analyst Trilby Lundberg said.
A gallon of mid-grade gasoline averaged around $3.12, and premium at nearly $3.22.
Nationwide, the lowest price for regular was $2.77 a gallon in Charleston, S.C., while the highest - $3.28 a gallon - was in San Diego.
My contract ended sometime ago (I happen to be in IT).. I live in the Chicago area and I happen to be looking elsewhere (mainly in the southwest area). Why cause I think there are better paying jobs elsewhere..
Of course not! You just doing plain old SOCIALISM without Darwin!!!
Quit worryin about all of your friends, will ya? Are ya livin in a Commune with 'em, er somethin??? If they're adults, they should be striken out for themselves without leanin all over you!!!
I can't believe I'm seein such commentary on FR!!! Dale Reed... You're crackin me UP!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!
BINGO! BANGO!! BONGO!!!
I hasvven't got time for dumb people.
When I was in business and had an average of 25 employees that made good wages there were only 3 that could manage money.
They owned their homes, had rentals, didn't buy anything on time, and always had money in the bank.
The rest couldn't make it more than pay day to pay day. They would come to me for an advance and I told them to learn to manage their money and declined their requests.
No, no. I wrote NEGATIVE $20 to $100.
I mostly drive to visit customers and the airport so I get reimbursed for my driving by my employer. The reimbursement has resulted in me not [technically] paying for gas in 2.5 years, since I don't do too much non-work driving...maybe 20-100 miles a week. I drive a Honda Accord and get 20MPG - 27MPG.
Human compassion dictates that one should be concerned for one's fellow man. Noblisse oblige dictates that, as someone who has had every advantage in life, I owe my time, my resources, and my voice for those who have not had many, if any, of those advantages.
I work with someone who was bitching and moaning about this, all he while he has a boat, motorcycles, drives all over te place on the weekends, drives his kids everywhere...
Well, he is bitching and I tell him that prices, when adjusted for inflation, are not as high as in 1979.
He argued with me. He didn't understand the concept of a dollar not being worth today what it was then. Still amazes me. It's the Islamic terrorists stupid.
I remember my Dad having to wait to fill the huge LTD wagon we had, only on certain days.
We don't have it nearly as rough as people had it back then.
"$20-$100? You got a moped or something? ;-) Crikey, even my 650 sucks down $13 a week. My Nissan PU (work truck) gets 25 mpg but I do a lot of driving."
we are travelling in an RV which gets an average of 7.4MPG.
We still have 6500 miles ahead of us. About $2700. But, What mileage does YOUR house get?
Yep, iirc. But you have to go to the airport or a wholesaler to get it.
Is this some creed you've dug out of the Judeo/Christian ethic somewhere? Or did it come out of the Roman Empire/Dark Ages or some such?
You stop given them "friends" fish right now and start teachin 'em how to fish for themselves. Don't be settin up some liberal "plantation" for 'em to become your dependents/slaves, ya hear??? Unless they're genuinely afflicted with Arrested Development, they'll take far better care of themselves than you could ever do for them!!! What your doing is arrogant and hurtful, otherwise.
I hear ya! It's far better to be a "tough love"(er) than to try to nursemaid employees on you own private plantation so's they end up owing their souls to the company store... Hey that reminds me of Tennessee Ernie Ford and all his little peapickers!!!
I haven't scrolled down yet to read the responses, but I bet the stockbrokers are getting mad that everyone else isn't euphoric over the skyrocketing prices.
These threads are all the same.
The myth that we are at peak oil is BS. We have a 200 year supply if the price stays at this level.
Yep, I was right. Shows the huge disconnect.
Hopefully the price will stay at this level so we can dump oil for good. I'm tired of donating a quarter of my paycheck to third world dictators who hate me.
I agree. Check out this link.

( For clarity, that is a Canadian piechart, but our structure is similar )
Besides, after summer gas prices always fall. They'll be manageable by the '06 elections I'm sure, much to the chagrin of the looney left and the MSM. :)
We can only hope. Don't want the left to have anything to sell to the American People. We need them to LOSE seats this round. That would be so great. Could be first time for sitting six year President.
