Fine by me.

I don't like any of the other choices, even though some crowds have annointed Romney or McCain at this point.

Anyone that is legitimately more conservative then the others I welcome into the race. And, no, I don't think a lot of the potential candidates LIKE Romney are conservaive. I think they'll take the position that they believe will win the primary. After that I DO NOT KNOW if they'll honor the platforms they aid they supported.

"She's smarter and more savvy than three or four other people combined"

Smart? How about pro terrorist?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1724204/posts

In her remarks, Rice confessed, “I believe that there could be no greater legacy for America than to help bring into being a Palestinian state for a people who” suffer the “daily humiliation.” of living under the so-called Israeli occupation.

Rice pressured Israel into turning over checkpoints on the Gaza/Sinai border to a joint force of Palestinians and Egyptians. Since then, Palestinian terrorists (excuse the redundancy) have smuggled 15 tons of explosives over the border, as well as quantities of rifles, ammunition, rockets and other weapons and munitions. Condi must be very popular with Israelis just a rocket’s shot from Gaza.

Now she wants the U.S. to fund an expansion of Abbas’s Presidential Guard from 2,500 to 6,000 troops. She also wants Israel to approve the transfer of additional weapons to the ironically misnamed Palestinian security forces. Toys for Terrorists?

Are you a terrorist appeaser too?

I like what this guy had to say to Wolf Blitzer about CNN playing the video of our soldiers being shot by the terrorists.

Are you a terrorist appeaser too?

That question is so ugly and unfounded that I will NOT respond.

Shame on you for such a reprehensible personal attack on me because of my respect for Secretary Rice.

SHAME!!!

Then, as Governor, when the state supreme court mandated gay marriage, he ensured that only Massachusetts residents would be eligible.

Sam Adams he ain't.

Hunter is awfully chummy with defense and other federal contractors in San Diego. Not "was," "is."

You can't throw a stone without hitting three defense contractors in San Diego.

Hell, everyone I know is "chummy" with a defense contractor in some way or another. It's a major industry. There's no way you're going into politics down here without addressing it.

Oh...........I didn't mention that your calling Condoleezza Rice "pro-terrorist" takes you off the list of rational freepers.

Absurd hyperbole because of policy differences.

Absurd hyperbole based on your policy disagreements with the administration.

Absurd........ridiculous...........ludicrous..............bizarre...........wrong.

So far off the mark that I'd have to hunt in the weeds to find the arrow before I could even respond, and frankly, from what you have already said, it would be a waste of my valuable time.

Besides, what you really mean is that the President of the United States and our troops' Commander in Chief supports terrorists, and IMHO, you should be banned from this forum for stating that kind of treasonous position.

I'll be glad to call in JimRob and ask his opinion of that accusation of the President, if you'd like to find out.......

That's his biggest weakness but he just needs to get out there and he is impressive. You know how a lot of conservatives/Republicans complain how the GOP just sits back and let's the Demonrats/media get away with their attacks? Well, Duncan Hunter doesn't take any of that. I've been really impressed by him and see him in a Reagan style. He's a great conservative and a fighter. I've actually been pushing his name in the threads that have popped up in the last yr. about GOP contenders for '08 and I knew he didn't have the recognition of a Guiliani, McCain, Allen, Romney but he is very impressive and the one people should turn their attention to because he is the real deal. I'm just excited he has decided to run because California is not good for Republicans and Hunter is made for the presidency, especially in these dangerous times.

bushfamfan, I promise you I will give him his due and check out what he has to say.
If as you say he is a Reagan Republican I'll be impressed. I believe smaller govt. is better govt. just as Ronald Maximus did. I lived in Calif when he was Gov. and he was the most impressive ploitician and gentleman of conviction I ever heard of.
I support Mr. Bush but have my differences with even him due to his allowing congress to spend like crazy. Also Mr. Bush refusing to secure my countries borders and to not throw out illegals.
I also fail to comprehend how a repub. controlled congress, senate and presidency have refused to make illegal at the very least partial birth abortion, notiication of parents of minors abortions and govt. financing abortion.
But hey, I'm just an old fashioned type of guy.
Hope Mr. Hunter is a "Reagan Repub like me.
I'll give him a chance.. honest.

Duncan,

Have a crack at Sen. Boxer's seat first. Cuz' with this announcement, you're bucking history, big time.

BTW, there are several representatives from Southern Calif. that could/should run for a statewide seat, i.e., David Drier, but don't. Why is that?

Given that scenario I'd choose Rice, but not with any great glee.

Hunter needs to SHUT THE F%*K UP till after the election.

He doesn't stand a prayer anyway, but can he at least keep his ego in check till after the election and stop sucking up the air?
