FLASH: McCain Calls On Kerry To Apologize
drudge ^ | 10/31/2006 | milwguy

Posted on 10/31/2006 8:59:29 AM PST by milwguy

Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country's call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education. Americans from all backgrounds, well off and less fortunate, with high school diplomas and graduate degrees, take seriously their duty to our country, and risk their lives today to defend the rest of us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.

They all deserve our respect and deepest gratitude for their service. The suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq, is an insult to every soldier serving in combat, and should deeply offend any American with an ounce of appreciation for what they suffer and risk so that the rest of us can sleep more comfortably at night. Without them, we wouldn't live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks.

To believe his press release, it would assume that President Bush has not 'done well' I think most people would say that 'President' Bush has done better than 'Senator' Lurch and has risen to the top position in the greatest country on the face of the earth. How by any definition that is not 'doing well' is something only J f'n Kerry could dream up in his wacked out imagination. His press release is childish, and I think his disgraceful actions have caused more damage to our men and women serving overseas than Mark Foley's e-mails have to the House Pages..
At long last sir, have you no sense of decency. If you did, you would resign and fly off to one of your wife's
many estates on her jet, and disappear from the national stage forever.

That Kerry statement is further proof that Kerry can say nothing in 500 words or more.

That is nothing more than a non-apology apology that attempts to deflect attention to the Right.

How in Heaven's name does he hope that his "indignation" will dispute a VIDEO of his stupidity?!?! Incredible!

We know what is at stake. Next week, Kerry could be in the leadership...

...if good men do nothing.

Good link. This is catching fire.

Not gonna happen from the DBM. They'll try ignoring it, and if it can't be ignored, they'll go out of their way to find military that happen to fit Kerry's depiction (there will be one or two). These will be paraded on TV - perhaps with some interviews of the family members (if the family members diss Bush, well, that's a bonus).

Using Kerry's logic, he himself is not a very bright person as he served in the military.

That sounds like a great idea. Someone on another thread said Kerry was suppose to come to Pa. and appear with Casey...I wonder if that will still happen. If it does, i'd like to atend (big, evil grin) I'll bet every Dem candidate is cancelling Kerry 'help" at this point.

will only work if we widely disseminate this affront to our military and demand by sheer force that the news media cover it.

already right now they are in full Kerry-protection mode, attempting to bury the story.

I think that we can keep this going if we press it. The media will HAVE to cover the story of Kerry being asked not to come campaign.

I am absolutely dumbfounded that he released such a childishly belligerent response. I thought for sure the original post was a satire!

Exactly! In fact, Rush is predicting that the media--instead of chastizing Kerry, will go out and search for those few, poor and disenfranchised soldiers who are only serving because they can't get ahead in our society.

Instead of attacking Kerry as they would do any Republican, the liberals and their media brethren will concoct a story to help in Kerry's defense. Heck, they're doing this already, making Kerry a victim of the evil Republicans via his response.

Come to think of it, to use Kerry's logic that he was referring to the President and implying he had not done well, what does that say about Kerry, who lost the election to him?
I love the righteous indignation and Bill Clinton/Chris Wallace interview attitude that he has taken in his press release. It is so scripted and from the new Dem 'tough talk on defense' playbook it is almost funny, and makes him look even more foolish.

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Lurch is a total POS. He can't help but refer to himself and his time in Vietnam - and yet, he doesn't wear it as a badge of Honor. Oh no, this *sshole uses it as a shield. He disgusts me to no end.

HA! Wesley Clark being asked about Kerry's comment now! Bill Hemmer asked him. Clarke is dodging by saying he didn't hear what Kerry saiad, but then goes on to compliment the troops.

OK...that is the first mention on TV. Let's see who can spot another mention!

Live on Rush Limbaugh as I type.

Kerry is a traitor to the Viet Nam Veterans and now to the current veterans.
