Casey to Welcome Kerry to Philadelphia Tonight for Fundraiser

Pittsburgh - According to today's Philadelphia Inquirer, Bob Casey Jr. made the following comments about John Kerry's disparaging remarks yesterday:

"From what I can gather, Kerry botched a joke. That's what he said, and I take him at his word. He served in combat. Last time I checked, the president and the vice president did not. The White House and the Santorum forces should get to work on dealing with the real problems in Iraq. The first thing they should do is fire Mr. Rumsfeld instead of spending a lot of time trashing Democrats." (Jennifer Loven, "'04 foes exchange fire anew on troops, war, education," The Associated Press via The Philadelphia Inquirer, November 1, 2006)

Here's what John Kerry said yesterday during a speech in California, "You know, education -- if you make the most of it, you study hard and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Vince Galko, campaign manager for Santorum 2006, "This wasn't a joke as Bob Casey contends. Casey needs to acknowledge these comments for what they were - disparaging to the honorable men and women serving in the armed services - and denounce them. We've known that Bob Casey is nothing more than a shallow mouth piece for the talking points assigned to him, but for Casey to not know that John Kerry crossed the line is deeply troubling. Bob Casey needs to rethink his comments and call on Kerry to apologize. Perhaps he can do so when John Kerry joins him for a fundraiser tonight in Philadelphia."

John Podhertz of NY Post/NRO Corner fame thinks that Kerry's gaff might actually help democrats such as Ford, Cardin, Casey and McCaskill. He thinks it might provide them with a moment to stand up to their own party and show independence and courage - their " Sistah Souljah" moment.

Oops, I guess Casey didn't get the memo. Idiot.

Welcome.

Instead of apologizing and getting this issue over with--Kerry continues to insult the intelligence of EVERYONE--by not only REFUSING to apologize--

but by continuing to SPEW HIS HATE, VITRIOL, ANGER, and VENOM as the discussion about his utter CONTEMPT for the military continues.

Kerry is absolutely SHAMELESS. What a disgusting person.

What a fool this Casey has demonstrated to the people of PA.

But just like here in Tn., there are many fools who will vote for these jerks.

Here in Tn. I wished the election would be over with.
I swear I believe Harold Ford Jr. is going to true to preaching the gospel.

In to days interviews with Ford, if one did not know who he was they would swear he was an evangelist.

Seems all the politicos become religious the closer it becomes to voting date.

Hi Fellow Pennsylvanian!

I am in Lancaster and working hard to get the vote out here. Care to tell what part of the state you're in?

Maybe, in a Kerryesque moment, Casey can endorse Kerry's comments before he doesn't endorse Kerry's comments.

Ah, so what Casey is saying is that John Kerry botched the joke because he is stupid, which is evidenced by his serving in combat.

Got it.

Like many Americans, I have zero tolerance whenever these lunatic lefties try to put down our warriors, our CIC and his staff.

I wish I could have corrected your statement: Like ALL Americans...........but I'm afraid you're right and these lefties may go violent WHEN they lose. As I heard some threats from some cowards, our peace and tranquility may come to an end. However, no problem for me, bring it on, was my answer.

He needs to confess to his lie. As a Catholic he should know better.

He thinks it might provide them with a moment to stand up to their own party and show independence and courage - their " Sistah Souljah" moment.

Only problem with that is how long it freaking took them to show their supposed displeasure.

GREAT and good for your daughter and her soon to be husband! And believe me, this Pennsylvania election for both that good man, Senator Santorum, and the gentleman Swann, is NOT over! NOT yet!

With a week to go, Rick just might not make it on this stupid statement alone. He needs some big hitters to come in a campaign in Western as well as N. Pa. Philly is lost. Casey is an empty suit but he should win.

I'm actually a transplanted Virginian whose job brought me north of the Potomac. I couldn't stand to live in the People's Republic of Maryland though, and so I moved to Gettysburg in (still) rural Adams County.

Agreed.

His so-called 'explanation' is about as phoney and as BLATANT OF A LIE as anyone with any common sense could possibly imagine.

I don't even think that an accomplished liar like Bill Clinton would have tried to dream up something as bogus as this. Even Bill Clinton probably 'rolled his eyes' at Kerry's explanation.

Not all of us are among the "...fools of PA." And I am working HARD, along with many others in this state to see that Senator Santorum be reelected!

Hi Nancee,

I lived in Harrisburg 87-89. I was a DJ on Wink 104. It's hard to believe that so many libs have gotten such a foot hold on PA. It was not like this when I was there. Thanks for your hard work for the Santorum re-election effort.
