Prayer Request (First Vanity Ever)
None -- this is a vanity | 11/06/2006 | Self

Posted on 11/06/2006 3:54:32 PM PST by No Truce With Kings

Gang:

I hope you will excuse the vanity.

I am going to be an election judge at a precinct in Galveston County tomorrow.

It will be a loooong day (polls open from 7am to 7pm) and we are going to be using a lot of new equipment (including an e-Slate and e-Scan machine). in the final analysis the buck stops with me, the election judge.

I have been an election judge before, but I know it is going to take a lot of patience and more than a little wisdom to get the job done right. If I might bother you to take a little time to ask the Lord to give me both, in the quantities I need I would really appreciate it.

Excuse the vanity -- and the prayer request for something that is a lot less serious than life and death, but I ask for your indulgence.

Good luck to you and thanks for participating. My husband is a poll manager and in charge of the machines and problems that arise and he'll be working from 7 to 7 also, so I know what a long day you're going to be having.

But you're doing an important job and just know that it's appreciated.

Gladly - and it is never, ever a bother to petition my Lord on someones behalf.

Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.

Rom 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

"My husband is a poll manager and in charge of the machines and problems that arise and he'll be working from 7 to 7 also . . ."

My goodness -- I will add him to my prayer list tonight. He will need them, too -- maybe worse than I do!

In fact, could anyone that is going to being adding me to their prayer list, add Peach's husband, too.

For that matter, if any other election workers want to join in the request, please do.

I will also be an election judge. Our polls are open 6am until 7pm. Maybe you can add all of us who will be on the front lines tomorrow as election judges with lots of people looking over our shoulders.

Thank you, No Truce. That's so nice of you.

He's over at the church right now setting up the tables, etc. and will do the machines tomorrow morning so no one can tamper with them overnight :-)

Good luck tomorrow!
