~ FReeper Canteen ~ I would send (fill in the blank) to our Troops for Christmas? |
Welcome to the FReeper Canteen! It's great to have you with all of us!! Thank you to all of our Troops, Veterans, and their families for allowing us to entertain you! |
|
We Want To Know...
|
What would you send to our Troops this holiday season?
We're usually silly in here, but today we thought we'd ask a somewhat serious question. If you could send something to our Troops this holiday season, what would it be and why? Holidays can be lonely for even some of us that are stateside, but imagine being in Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Gitmo, or elsewhere and far away from your family. What would you want to have if you were so far away? Make it as silly, serious, or fun as you want it to be. Please don't make it political!

D Didja see Rus's interview on the news? No, but the AM talk radio guy refered to Grand Island as Russ Thompsons' Island!

Easy keepers..I like that. This winter has been a tad strange. 8" of snow in October....and then no more til a week ago, and 5". Now it has rained.

No snow here yet. We don't ordinarily get that much before New Years, although we have had blizzards in November on occasion. I well remember Veterans' Day 1987 - 14 inches of snow and I proposed to my wife.

LOL! I would love to have heard that. He seems to have stirred the pot there, huh? Gotta be good for the county to get people questioning the status-quo!

Here's what I'd send the Troops for this Holiday Season:
1. Uncle Sam's gift catalog. Need body armor-order it..new tank..no problem
2. 100 Jeanie's each--and not one jeanie in a bottle.
3. A Magic Lamp with 3 wishes for each fellow.
4. For the ladies- a Magic lamp with 4 wishes. They'd find a use for the 4th wish.
5. A Yearbook dated 2010 showing them Victory and a Job well done. Also with pictures of how the baddest terrorists ended up.
6. Tickets for a 2 month vacation at any resort in the world to take time to rest and recuperate with friends and family
7. Finally- 2 very special Medals- for fighting in 120 degree heat...and for going one year without beer or other alcohol.
God Bless our Troops...We're with ya all the way
