As anyone who has ever fallen in love knows, it takes a while to get your head straight, to stop your heart from pounding and for your dewy eyes to find their focus again. So it is with Barack Obama.
The junior senator from Illinois has gotten our blood racing, our faces flushed, and some among us are already prepared to skip the engagement and race down the aisle with him in 2008.
That fever pitch is certainly evident among Democrats in New Hampshire today. A sellout crowd awaits Obama there. The Associated Press reports all 1,500 tickets for his Sunday Democratic Party appearance in Manchester have been snatched up. And crowds are expected to line up earlier in the day for his book reading in Portsmouth.
But it wouldn't hurt to take a deep breath now and then and consider a couple of things.
Presidential campaigns are not sprints but agonizing marathons that punish both the candidates and the public. And front-runners have been known to fade fast. Ask Howard Dean about that.
I'm not predicting that will happen to Obama. But telegenic, charismatic and brilliant though he may be, what's ahead is a test like no other.

We MUST inform people about him. I had the opportunity the other nite at a party to talk to a lady who said to me "He (obama) might do some good"!!! I told her I'd send her his voting record and other things, told her he was against the patriot act, for abortion etc. etc.
She said to me "really???". She then had a different outlook on him & said she'd read whatever I sent her to get more informed!!
That is what we need to do for the next 2 years!

I think he might be refered to as the "Surprisingly Articulate, Barack Obama" with the same intonation as Rush says "REVEREND Jackson".
Obama is often described as articulate as though there is something unsual about an articulate black man. The liberal MSM shows it's racism here.
Voted YES on establishing a Guest Worker program. (May 2006)
Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security. (May 2006)
Voted YES on giving Guest Workers a path to citizenship. (May 2006)
That's more than enough reasons to make him unsuitable for any government position let alone POTUS.
