Canteen Music Dedication

For this weeks Canteen Music Dedication we move along the timeline to "Glam Metal" music.

Glam metal is a sub-genre of heavy metal music that arose in the late 1970s in the United States. It was a dominant genre in popular rock music throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.

The genre is also referred to, often by detractors, as hair metal or pop metal. This term was popularized by MTV in the 1990s and derives from the tendency amongst some bands to style their long hair in a teased-up fashion. In modern culture, fans of the style have embraced the term glam metal. During its heyday, the genre was often referred to as heavy metal or simply metal.

The selections below are just a sampling. This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!

Enjoy the varity of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays have provided throughout the thread. All DeeJays are happy to fill requests dedicated to the troops if we can.

All music is removed on Monday!
Thanks to all the DeeJay's for their time & effort providing entertainment for the Troops!

Gotta keep the new pattern going....sleep in the day, work at night. Do you go to work tonight or tomorrow night?

I always love that clip. What gets me is that I am one of the few that I know that saw it when it originally aired -- on a different show on a different network. SNL lifted that sketch lock, stock and Shatner from ABC's "Fridays", which had done it years earlier. Granted, the ratings for "Fridays" were pretty lousy anyway, which explains why no one seems to realize.

If that hits close to home, you have to rent "Star Quest" with Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver. One of the best "star trek" movies ever made, even if it isn't a star trek movie.

Oh, no, Luv!!! Not you too?? Now I have two of you posting BYJ pics?

Tanniker Smith, She simply reposted one I put up with improvements. LOL! It's my fault. : )

(Okay, at least this one had him about to make out with some cute chick in a snow bank with is something that I could be totally get down with, but it's just a short step to posting pics of BYJ without a shirt on, giggling like a school girl!)

ROTFLOL! Glad you see you have a sense of humor, even if you have no appreciation of the handsomeness of men. : )

Monk, you are indeed a great talent with photoshop. My question is how do you crank some of these out so quick. Like that one you did with Darth Kofi?

Are you going to reveal any of your secrets?

On occassion you hear men talk about a "man crush" ala Seinfeld, though.

Yeah, but...Seinfeld....

Well, I wouldn't consider any of the characters of Seinfeld as templates of masculinity or anything. However, there are men out there secure enough in their own masculinity that they can admit when a particular man is handsome (or very handsome).

George might have been a little too "secure". LOL!
