Turned out to be a Vietnam vet
Well, that explains that doesn't it? Oh, except Whitman wasn't a 'Nam vet.
But I am and I deeply resent your perpetuation of the stereotype.

Many times in hostage situatuions, the police will put everyone in handcuffs until they can ascertain who’s who..or that one of the perps isn’t trying to sneek out with he victims..

The reason I don’t think today’s massacre is terrorism: a terrorist wouldn’t stop up at the President’s office to kill him first, and then go after students (if indeed there is only one shooter).

A single terrorist might not, but a group might want to disrupt a co-ördinated response by creating confusion and removing top responders.

Quite serious. About 19 dead in two engineering classrooms.

I was assuming Fatima’s post about the College Pres getting shot was a typo. Is it really the case?

>That’s interesting. At most universities campus police are a joke.<

Not the case at all. Most major Universities have sworn well trained officers. The university of Georgia has had a professional force for 40 years.

ARABS are Asians.

But as somebody else said, until the killer or killers are identified, people are only jumping to conclusions.

If there were two separate sites involved, its unlikley one shooter was involved, but not impossible.

SCANNER chatter:

Something about a shotgun in a green vehicle in the visitor’s area.

Right, only engineering or business students shoot people. (/jeez)

I think it’s safe to assume that the Christian religion doesn’t have much to do with this massacre.

Gun bill gets shot down by panel

HB 1572, which would have allowed handguns on college campuses, died in subcommittee.
By Greg Esposito
APRIL 16 (!!!)
http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/wb/xp-50658

A bill that would have given college students and employees the right to carry handguns on campus died with nary a shot being fired in the General Assembly.

House Bill 1572 didn’t get through the House Committee on Militia, Police and Public Safety. It died Monday in the subcommittee stage, the first of several hurdles bills must overcome before becoming laws.

The bill was proposed by Del. Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah County, on behalf of the Virginia Citizens Defense League. Gilbert was unavailable Monday and spokesman Gary Frink would not comment on the bill’s defeat other than to say the issue was dead for this General Assembly session.

Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. “I’m sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly’s actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus.”

FOX reported earlier that the first person killed was described as “elderly.”

So could just about any number of people on just about any college campus. No need to speculate about something so broad.

I hate to break it to the DUmmies, but VT is liberal to the core, its Cadets notwithstanding.

Run, attack him, whatever is a better chance for survival than staying in line.

Instinct usually forces submission in a situation like that. I don't fully understand why.

I agree, it doesn’t make sense: One shooter arrested this a.m., then another shooter dead later?

Which one was the “asian”?

Were there two shooters? Why are all the schools in the town still locked down? Sounds like they don’t know if there are other shooters...

In our area near DC we have had problems with not just Hispanic gangs but also violent Asian home invasion gangs. I don't know if that problem also exists around Virginia Tech - BTW, a good school.

I find this story very depressing and just switched off the TV. Prayers for the families.
