They are requesting Rubber gloves at the scene. They are about to do a briefing. There is some bit of important information that they do not want on the radio. Per Scanner.

All the worst mass murders happen in gun free zones - all the school shootings that were stopped quickly were in areas that allowed the armed citizen to intervene.

Well, now there's an unfounded claim.

For example, the aforementioned Mr. Whitman took a large number of lives, despite the fact that both police and armed civilians were shooting at him.

As a matter of fact, I can't recall a single case where school shooters had been thwarted by armed civilians -- even though some of those shootings have occurred in places where personal firearms ownership is common.

If these kids were killed in class, I cannot see sending my sheep...er...children to a university which would not allow students to walk around with the means to self defense.

This is not "tragic", this is preventable. I've noticed in the newsreporting for these potential SJS ("SJS= Sudden Jihad Syndrome) incidents, there's always some plausible motivation thrown out there -- mad over girlfriend, lost a job, but then you find out the shooter is given an Islamic burial in Bosnia or something.

I guess we still want to keep our eyes tightly closed and tell the boogeyman to go away.

Doesn't anyone in the DC area remember the 2 "angry white men in a white van-that-turned-out-to-be-a-muslim-convert" sniper duo that made it a terror to get gas or go to home depot for fear of being sniped? I can't remember a time feeling so powerless and ridiculous. We'd better go get Chief Moose on the case, right away. Otherwise, we'll have no red herrings to fry up in the media.

Just because my children are not in the public school system, doesn't mean I want to see others' children live or die through a Beslan.

Will we ever learn?

Don’t jump to conclusions about Bush over gun control, you may be right, but remember, Bush fought tooth and nail for the CCW in Texas and that was a hell of fight for him. If you know anything about Texas Government you’ll know that the Governor has no real power in this State and he won that fight with both hands tied behind his back.

The guy who shot the i-video being run on CNN, Jamal A., said he initially thought the commotion was due to another one of the recent bomb threats on campus.

Anyone hear anything about bomb threats?

"Had someone chosen to effectively defend themselves,"

The correct response to the gun grabbers is "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6." I keep a .38 in my vehicle and occasionally have kept it in my purse. Who would suspect a 63-year-old lady to be hiding a revolver? And I feel much better with it than without it.

Yes, they said the VaTech PD announced the shooter in custody, the lockdown was lifted, and shooting commenced elsewhere on the campus.

“Why is the White House even giving a press conference? What information can they add?”

It may be a daily press briefing where the msm decided they could ask questions to advance their agenda.

If he was looking for his girlfriend - he probably wasn’t a student - because he didn’t KNOW where to find her - wonder if he ever did find her...

A fruitloop might think she was his "girlfriend" even if she wasn't.

...ban on students or employees carrying guns and prohibiting visitors from bringing them into campus facilities.

So.... that means the shooter today was breaking the law by bring guns on campus???!!! OMG!! I'm shocked.

there is such a thing as “concealed carry” where you also “don’t tell, don’t show”

The dorm is apparently coed, as a male resident was interviewed. Did a reliable report state that the victim was female?

The shootings are so specifically targeted — one dorm room, one (or two?) classroom(s)— it would seem a personal vendetta of some sort. If so, it shouldn’t be too difficult for investigators to sort out.

The possibility of more than one shooter is very scary. Apparently it hasn’t been 100% ruled out.

If not, and it WAS just a single shooter, as people are speculating, what a society of sheep the MSM has created. Disarmed the campus, and conditioned its residents not to fight back. Or so it seems.

I think it's really difficult to know what you would do under these circumstances. But I have always wondered why a group of people never decide to charge the shooter. He can't kill everyone at once.

But you would have to acknowledge that a few will get hurt for the others to be successful. Hard, I think.

Good points.

Then there’s those predictions about attacking Iran the end of April . . . if so, I expect terrorist sleeper cells in USA to go berzerk lighting off all kinds of death and destruction.

First thing the FBI should do is look for connections between the shooters and anyone from Iran or Syria.
