"When we elected him to office, we also elected his views and provided him with the authority to craft his views into government policy in concert with legislation from Congress."

We most emphatically DID NOT give him the "authority" to ignore our immigration laws and destroy our sovereignty. No one I know thought he would completely disregard the views of American citizens and our immigration laws to cozy up to the corrupt Mexican government and an accelerating invasion of our country.

Our president's stubborn, arrogant contempt for the rule of law and the legitimate desires of the vast majority of citizens to stop the illegal invasion is something we'd call "treason" if done by a dem.

Here's quite an old article from the 2000 campaign that I found illuminating on Bush's motives and reasoning. It seems many have forgotten what platform he ran for office on:

Bush's Mexico connection signals key policy initiative

The difference in why the Dims support the immigration bill is a universe apart from why Bush does. For the DIM’s it’s all about a power grab, for Bush it’s a wrong headed attempt to keep our economy strong.

I still say they're all in bed together and care nothing for We, The People.

Keep our economy strong? Oh yeah? How strong will it be when the tens of thousands of illegals become legal?

Seeing the reaction to this 'bill' --- what do you think it will be when it becomes 'law'? Think there'll be any animosity and resentment or is everyone just going to shut up and take it? I don't. If we have to depend on what amounts to slave labor in order to 'keep our economy strong' then there is something seriously wrong. And we need someone who wasn't born with the proverbial silver spoon to lead us in the right direction once again.

I know what it says about the past and present. It is not so much that they were alcoholics, it is that BOTH were rooted in wealthy east coast elites. It meant that they had the family name and the money to waste their youth in alcoholic indulgence while letting the poor boys get drafted and serve in Nam. Middle class Midwesterners like Truman, Reagan, and Eisenhower did not have the option of wasting their youth in an alcoholic haze. When Truman left office he had to borrow the money necessary to make the move back to his home in Independence. I hope I never live to see the day that name of Bush or Kennedy appears on a ballot that I am voting on.

I agree. Guess we’ll both be visited by the secret service pretty soon.

It's getting bizarre.

I heard a radio talk station calling for bulldozing Senator Fienstein office to get her attention.

This was after she said 9,000 angry, hostile calls were not enough to sway here on amnesty for criminals.

The arrogance of these people is nothing short of incredible.

They obviously think they're royalty.

Do you understand what "The Rule of Law" is?

Do you understand its importance as regards this country? Do you believe a president, or any elected offical, should be allowed to ignore and circumvent the rule of law?

If so, give me an example of when.

If not, what do yo believe the penalty should be? Kings and dictators do what they want. They are the law.

Presidents of the United States are not the law; they swear under oath to uphold the rule of law, the constitution of the United States.

Why do you believe Bush should be above the law? To do as he wants, regardless of his sworn oath and the laws of this country?

They did however, vote for a man whose views were well known

Did they know that he feels that the Constitution is just a g* d* piece of paper? He is showing us that now, yes, but he did not claim this until after the election.

There is a class of internationalists who support president Bush, who will always blame the American people instead of the man actually committing the crime against us.

Where do you fall?

we also elected his views and provided him with the authority to craft his views into government policy

Another complete whopper!

Where do you come up with this stuff!LOL!

The president was elected to head a government whose sole function is to protect the rights of the American people.

How far we have strayed from the simple and profound concept! Only in the minds of the reconstructionist globalists and communists is the idea that a man is elected to the presidency to 'craft is views' into policy! His views violate the spirit and the letter of the US Constitution; he has mislead the American people in the most dangerous and subversive manner, and we are about to pay for it with the death of the American culture and the servitude of the American taxpayer to fund his illegal alien amnesty and criminal employer tax amnesty.

I just thought of a way to perhaps make this clearer to you.

You say that you were a police officer. Did you decide which laws you would enforce based upon your personal beliefs and preferences? If so, you were a bad cop.

If a policeman is vocal about his oppostion to the war on drugs, does this mean he does not have to uphold the drug laws?

If this cop is black and thinks blacks are oppressed by whites, does this mean he can enforce the law just against whites if he so chooses or does he have to enforce the law equally to all?

Should the President of the United States be held to a higher or lower standard than someone with less influence and power?

If you found out that Bush had murdered his wife, would you excuse this because of his belief that she no longer deserved to live? Would it matter to you at what point he had expressed this belief?

Because of Bush's amnesty push, many Americans are going to be murdered and our entire country will suffer. (Well, not the people like Bush but you know what i mean).

If Uncle Joe has been a good man all his life, especially to your children, is it then ok if comes over one day and burns down your house, whatever his reasons are?

I do not know who Bush is in the service of but it is certainly not the United States or its citizens.

Your position reminds me a little of a battered woman who refuses to let the law persecute her husband. Only, in your case, it's your children and their children who will be battered.

has done an excellent job of establishing policies that has kept our economy very strong and our citizens safe from terrorism.

Another whopper!

The worst attack on American civilians in our history happened during his presidency!

The economy isn't very strong-- we have experienced exponential inflation in energy prices, home prices, school and university tuitions, hospital and health care, and now food.

The wage earning taxpayer is being hammered in this economy because he's paying for the flood of illegals into this country, and footing the bill for global trade policies that protect transnational coporations by making the taxpayer fund there risky and questionable investments in communist third world countries. The taxpayer funds what is the antithesis of free people, slave labor in communist countries.

But chaos is chaos however it comes about. We may have had it sooner with the Dims, true, but it is still lumbering along to become our new American reality.

“Not chaos-like together crushed and bruised, But as the world, harmoniously confused, Where order in variety we see, And where, though all things differ, all agree” ---- Alexander Pope

Can you measure misery by its political affiliation?

Certainly! Democraps pulled the US out of Vietnam, and mass murder of Cambodians happened! As a matter of fact, it was a Democrap, Jimmy Carter that created the Misery Index. Democraps are the party of misery. We're all going to die from Cgloabal Warming. Fatty foods, tobacco, Christian right, lack of health care, lack of taxation, Big Oil, the air we breathe, the water we drink, animal exinction....I could go on, but they are too damn depressing as a party!

Her money is on China (maybe a half a billion or more). Why should she care one iota what the American people need. As long as she can stay in power and use her position to make sure her husbands companies make them billions, well, she’s happy.

If I hear “come out of the shadows” one more time I will literally scream! (They have taken over construction here in San Diego)

Down here they are NOT in the shadows at all! So if there are still some in the shadows we are in deep doo doo down here.

I just sent "contact e-mail" through the Senate.gov system to Durbin and Obama. Here's the gist of what I said:

Vote NO on the Senate Immigration bill - S. 1348. NO to amnesty! My father and his World War II buddies and all other US military personnel did not go off and fight and die for this country only to have politicians give it away to ILLEGALS!
"Illegal" is just that - these people are BREAKING THE LAW!
Send them home and seal the borders - THEN we can talk about real immigration reform!

The Republcans in congress got their butts kicked because of a number of reasons, but chief among ‘em is a failure to stand on conservaive principals and oppose those things that failed to measure up to what was right.

The Republicans did indeed suffer losses due to their failure to stand on conservative principals, must notably with regard to uncontrolled spending by Federeal government. However, I would say that was only one of three major reasons that Republicans took a beating in 06.

The other reasons are directly related to the policies if the Bush Administration, and they are Iraq and Immigration. In both cases Republicans suffered because they were tied to the failures associated with the first issue and with the unpopularity of the second issue.

Unfortunately, the war in Iraq, post-invasion, has been terribly mismanaged. The architects of the war plan (Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Franks, etc.) grossly underestimated the challenges of Rescontruction in Iraq (Phase IV operations). It has proven to be FAR more costly then they estimated, both financially and in terms of the number of troops required to successfully carry it out. The results of the poor planning were not totally clear in 04, but by 06 they certainly were. Most Republicans supported removing Saddam from power, but are justifiably upset and discouraged by the evident lack of planning and lack of progress in Iraq. If Bush ran against Kerry in 06 instead of 04 he would have lost IMO because many more Republicans simply would stayed home. Of course, Bush wasn't on ballot in 06 so voters took out their frustration on the Repulican congress.

Secondly, on Immigration the Bush Administration is totally out of step with the vast marority of Republicans. Many Republicans were discouraged by the Bush stance on immigration last year when the issue was debated last year. Again, Republicans in congress suffered because many conservative voters had no motivation to turn out and support the GOP when the leader of the Party was hellbent on passing legislation that was a total anathema to them.

Poor Senators, want their cake and eat it too...they’re trying to do the bidding of big business as fast as possible, and hope we’ll forget by 2008.

“Please look at what giving amnesty to as much as 20,000,000 illegal alien foreign nationals actually represents.”

According to Homeland Security, 10 MILLION entered the country JUST LAST YEAR ALONE! Hard to believe there are only 20.

OBL rhetoric....because from what I read, they aren’t in the shadows, American citizens are complaining that they’re urinating and defecating in broad daylight on public streets and private property from San Diego to NY.
