RNC Fires Phone Solicitors [former donors outraged over amnesty]

There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

They’ve painted themselves into a corner now, would imagine their biggest donors are the slavemasters who hire the illegals. If they try to please the multitude of smaller donors and do something about the illegals they’ll lose their big donors.

That is true, but the big money donors only have a few votes. All the money in the world won't help the RNC if even 5% of the base decides to stop supporting them. The illegals who find a way to vote and the pro-amnesty crowd won't help as they will vote for the Dems.

For example, my two Georgia senators (both republicans) are backing this bill hardcore and insulting those who dare to question it. One is up for re-election in 2008 and I've already decided that I'm voting 3rd party for his slot. He can get all the donation money he wants, but he is toast.

Better still Pledge what ever you can afford or have donated in the past will be used as an independent expenditure to defeat you local Republi Con or Demon crat in the next election.

We may not need all of them but we sure need some of them.

Are there not enough people who have been waiting in queue to immigrate legally? Explain why those people are somehow less suitable than the ones that sneak over?

“You know, after send them a bunch of these in response to their solicitations, I haven’t received any requests for donations for quite a while now. Go figure...”

I did that last year and haven’t heard a peep out of them since. I also sent one to me congresscritter.

Better yet, tape it to a brick and send it back. They have to pay for postage.

I thought it was illegal to send building materials through the U.S. postal service (a prohibition IIRC that was put in place because it was cheaper to mail building materials to parts of Alaska that were only accessible by air than to ship them any other way)

My humble apologies to you, Jim, John, Liz, Juan, Scotty, Blane, Forrest, and Travis.....

If not, it'll be the death of the GOP.

The GOP had nearly taken care of this immigration mess in 1996 but backstabbers in the party like Spencer Abraham, Dick Chrysler, and Phil Crane sabotaged good legislation. Now it's coming back to bite them. Let these clowns get their votes from the illegal aliens.

There is only one conclusion:
The GOP is dead and waste of time.

It's time for Conservatives to form their own party.

Interesting thought ~ kind of like the mandatory 5 you get in Virginia if a gun is involved in your crime.

Since the illegal aliens with the Z-visas are not subject to the "sponsorship" requirement applicable to the legal immigrants, I was thinking it might be a good idea to slap a "lifetime sponsorship" requirement on a Z-visa holder for his spouse, girlfriends, or any children born here (not subject to change by a divorce court either). Bet that'd have them shaking in their boots.
