RNC Fires Phone Solicitors [former donors outraged over amnesty]

There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

The RNC called me last month as a "LOYAL DONOR IN THE PAST" and I told them exactly what I thought in no uncertain terms and this was my issue. My #1 concern is the illegal immigration issue. I have sent repeated letters to RNC National HQ warning them that they are about to lose a lifelong member (me) because I'll switch to No Party Affiliation if they betray the nation with the straw that will break the Elephant's back. As far as I'm concerned, the GOP has become a pack of JACKASSES on this and a few other issues and no...it's no coincidence that I chose JACKASS.

The RNC needs to get their donations from their good buddies - the illegal criminal noncitizens that have not followed the law but who do help themselves to the mamma guv’mint slop bucket the real citizens pay taxes to keep filled - to the tune of 2.9 trillion (that’s trillion, like a billion, except there are three more zeros) dollars! “I’m sorry, after taxes I don’t have any money for you. Why don’t you call an illegal alien? I’m sure they’ll make the donations that American’s don’t want to make.”

Leave them in as proof of your courage.
You had to know they were coming but stood up anyway.

Is this it? Is this the final implosion of the GOP? Will the demonRats sweep majorities in the next election as the Repub’s attack their own base?

“Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue,” said the former employee.”

And yet Fred Barnes is still saying this isn’t hurting the GOP with its own base?

I’m one of those that told them ‘hell no, not as long as Amnesty is being proposed, not as long as the border remains ‘out of control’.

That one deserves another round.

Maybe RNC can get illegal aliens to support the worthless Republicans patriot Americans are too angry to support.

my two Georgia senators (both republicans) are backing this bill hardcore and insulting those who dare to question it. One is up for re-election in 2008 and I've already decided that I'm voting 3rd party for his slot. He can get all the donation money he wants, but he is toast.

Don't understand why our Senators from Georgia have taken this stance since our Republican Governor Sonny Perdue has taken such a hard position towards the illegals in the State.

Most Republican's in office are still more conservative than democrats although both Party's continue to drift to the left. I'll continue to vote for the most conservative candidate that has the best possibility to win.

Hit the s.o.b.s where it hurts.

Contribute directly to the candidate of your choice instead of the RNC.

In Texas, the betrayal of the conservative base, is best represented by the sorry vote tally for Gov Perry (39%)....

The Texas House, Senate, and Governorship are headed for the same scrap heap where the Republican majority in the United States House & Senate are buried....

Sadly Bush seems to be on course to doom a future Republican Presidency too......

I agree.

There is one trait regarding GW Bush that both Republicans and Democrats (and even Laura Bush) vehemently agree upon.

He is very, very, very stubborn.

This trait has served him well on many occasions, especially when he was right on the issues (such as Justice Roberts, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and tax cuts).

When he is terribly wrong on an issue(Harriet Miers, amnesty, out of control spending, etc) he won't admit it easily.

It takes getting sacked in the face about 50 times before he will even begin to move.

I talked to one ex-Washington insider who said the only people who could really put him in his place when he was wrong were his mother Barbara and his wife Laura.

Laura's approach is to shake her finger at him and yell "BUSHIE!!!"

I don't know how or why that works, but I am told it stops him in his tracks.

I just sent an email to them. That was the main point in my email.... that Americans do not support this. Only career politicians and illegals do. Expect more to stop donations. Worse...this could be a reason republicans lose WH, 2008.

Schummer and Clinton...I never call my senators. ;) Senators need term limits. I'm so tired of the career politicians dictating to us what needs to be done. No matter the cost to America. It's just so they can be re-elected. Too much corruption.

We scraped our Bush for President bumper sticker off of our SUV when Georgie Boy called the Minutemen vigilantes and we did mail that bumper sticker to George at the White House.

Remember when the RNC calls for money you can either give virtual money like the fence or pesos.

It won’t make any difference. There’s not a nickel’s worth of difference between the two parties. Both are inviting any and all people into the USA to do whatever they want, with us paying.

When you add 20 million new, poor, uneducated ‘citizens’ demanding food stamp, social security and free medical (they already get that by the way), it won’t much matter who is in the White House.

From the end of the WaTimes article: "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

The RNC spokeswoman denied that the committee has seen any drop-off in contributions.

"Any assertion that overall donations have gone down is patently false," Miss Schmitt said. "We continue to out raise our Democrat counterpart by a substantive amount (nearly double)."

Must be Miss Schmitt is pulling in lots of bucks from the illegals, as you suggest ... Although note that she carefully didn't answer the question, talking about overall donations instead of phone solicitations. This gets dumber and dumber by the day.

Somebody ping Sean or Laura to interview these now-unemployed solicitors to talk about what they have been hearing ...
