A proposal to boost Fred Thompson's presidential campaign

Look, it's clear that Fred Thompson can be and should be the next President of the United States of America. To help make it happen, how about each of us promises to send $100 to his campaign once he announces? I hereby do so. If a mere 50,000 of us do it, he'll have an additional $5 million to use in the campaign.

This is a great idea. He’s got my $100.

Starting things off with an avalanche of donations could get him a lot of attention all by itself. It might also be enough to clear the field of some lesser knowns and knock a RINO or two on their butts.

Fred is the only one I give enough of a damn about to vote for. And walk the streets for. Make of this what you will. I'm not going to argue with people around here, but until he popped up, I had decided to stay home election day 2008.
