Bush Sides With Mexican Killers Against U.S.
AIM Report ^ | 6/12/07 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 06/12/2007 6:01:28 PM PDT by Mike Bates

The State Department's top legal adviser told international lawyers on June 6 that President Bush is so committed to the primacy of international law that he has taken his home state of Texas to court on behalf of a group of Mexican killers. The Mexicans had been sentenced to death for murdering U.S. citizens, including young children.

John B. Bellinger III, legal adviser to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, cited the case, Mexico v. United States of America, in trying to convince the attorneys that the administration is doing what it can to enforce international law in U.S. courts.

In the case, Bush has come down on the same side as the U.N.'s International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ruled 14-1 on behalf of Mexico against the U.S. The ICJ was headed at the time by a judge from communist China, who also ruled against the U.S.

Bellinger's audience was gathered at The Hague, a city in the Netherlands which is home to over 100 international organizations, including the U.N.'s International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.

Sworn in as the Legal Adviser to the Secretary of State on April 8, 2005, Bellinger is described by the State Department as "the principal adviser on all domestic and international law matters to the Department of State, the Foreign Service, and the diplomatic and consular posts abroad."

The Bellinger speech, designed to convince the pro-U.N. globalists in attendance that Bush is really on their side, should have been big news. Not only did he praise Bush for coming down on the side of foreign killers of Americans, in a major court case with international implications, but he demonstrated how far the administration is prepared to go to impress the "international community."

In a major disclosure, Bellinger said. . .

Having won his second, and last Constitutionally permissible, presidential election any prsident may then feel free from the constraints imposed by cultivating the goodwill of the electorate.Or in other words,:I’m IN now and gonna do what I want.

Presedente Jorge Boosh, A.K.A. Gringo de Mexico, seems to have jumped the illegal immigrant in this case.

While one can make a case that under “international law” an American jailed in a turd world nation would be given the right to speak to an American consular official IF we retroactivly give the Mexicans on death row such a right to speak with their Mexican consular official.

WTF ? ? ? Does President Bush really think that “international law” is anything other than communism under a different label?

Does he think that regimes hostile to America (most of them, alas) will reciprocate? If so, he has downed too much kool ade.

“This President is on drugs.

Major. Heavy. Mind debilitating drugs. There is no other explanation for the downward spiral of his thinking and his leadership in the last year or so.”

I don’t think he’s fundamentally changed, the explanation is most people weren’t paying attention to illegal immigration during those years.

The open borders were as much a problem in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 as they are in 2007. Am I wrong?

It’s sort of like living a lifestyle that you can’t afford on credit, it’s not going to look like there’s anything wrong until the day the bill comes.

In this case it’s a very large bill for the benefit of 20 million who did nothing to deserve it other than walking into the country.

The solution could just as easily have been to add more people through legal immigration.

Of course. But educated, skilled immigrants do not provide large amounts of cheap, exploitable labor.

My daughter was the State Department Liaison and Chief Protocol Officer when she worked for a major foreign embassy in DC for some time. She complained continually how nearly impossible it was to get educated, skilled people to be allowed into this country. People who wanted to assimilate and be productive. Drove her nuts. The US government just doesn't care.

Mr. Kincaid fails to mention that although the President directed state courts to review claims that some foreign convicts didn’t have timely communication with consular officers (anyone here not want to be able to have contact with a U.S. embassy when convicted of murder on foreign soil?), that right after the direction, the State Department withdrew from the optional protocol of allowing the International Court of Justice to hear these disputes. The ICJ is not happy with Mr. Bush.

From http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/10/politics/10death.html?ex=1268110800&en=035448b039de59e8&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland

We don’t live on an island, no matter what some may think. There are situations each nation has to consider when dealing with other nations and their citizens. The President didn’t ask for the cases to be overturned, but from the replies here, one would almost think as much, just as the author intended.

I am sorry, but us Yankees stand with REAL Americans, not with Mexico. You can’t blame the fact that his daddy came from the northeast.

That makes two of us — he has a tin ear when it comes to listening to people that supported him for President when it comes to illegals. Makes no sense! Next candidate that uses the the words ‘compassionate conservatism’ can forget my vote in the future.

Globalist agenda --> children ok to leave behind.

Jorge is beyond all reason. I am truly aghast!

Has he completely flipped out?

No. He's always been a globalist.

Until recently we couldn't  point that out here on FR without having someone make snide comments about tin-foil.

More folks are seeing it now.

I wonder how long it will be until everyone goes back to sleep again?

I can’t bear to so much as look at a picture of Jorge. As far as “Rove The Bastard, Period” goes, I’ve had a really bad feeling about him for a good while.

At this point I think Impeachment is no longer a dirty word.

As much as I am disappointed with Bush, and as emotionally satisfying it would be to watch him being impeached, that just really isn't a valid option. You need an articulable crime. You and I may well think the way he has dealt with the border issues is 'criminal', but it still boils down to a policy difference at its base.

We're just going to have to work as hard as we can to stop as much of the globalist agenda from being implemented as we can. In addition to the crap we have outlined in the linked article, there is a lot of other fronts being pushed right now.

The LOST treaty is getting a push now and it's a true piece of work.  The implications of this treaty are staggering.

The Trans Texas Corridor (The Santa Anna Tollway) being pushed in Texas so as to more completely open up our interior to Mexico and China is another front. When the Texas legislooters made noises like they were going to be putting the kabosh on this globalist wet dream, we started hearing from Fedgov about losing other highway funds. Apparently that was enough to get the weak-kneed legislooters back in line.

Then, there is the Real-ID thing, which is going to be shoved down our throats to supposedly help identify the newly amnestied Z-card holders.  This particular bit is one of the few really readily spotted and easily explained examples of the Hegelian Dialectic in action out there.

We've got a lot of work to do, and a it's an uphill battle because the American people have been sitting on their asses while a lot of stuff has been going on around them for too long.

I am with you on Rove. Even in 2004, I was getting a bad feeling and with his handling of the Phlame affair and being too cute for his own good with the media, it turned into a worse feeling. Now I don’t want to see his face — don’t trust him.

I had the news on a short time ago when the President made the comments at the Senate, and I had a bad feeling then too when I saw the look on Kay Bailey’s face — she wasn’t happy.
