CNN) -- Last year at Christmastime, Rehan Seyam, a Muslim living in New Jersey, went to pick up some things at a local Wal-Mart. Seeing her distinctive traditional Muslim head covering called a "hijab," a man in the store, addressing her directly, sang "The 12 Days of Christmas" using insulting lyrics about terrorism and Osama bin Laden.
She was stunned.
"Do I look like a terrorist to you?" Seyam said she asked the man.
According to Seyam, the man replied, "What else does a terrorist look like?"
Such stories are not altogether uncommon for Muslim Americans. According to a recent poll by the Pew Research Center, 53 percent of Muslims living in America said it has become more difficult to be a Muslim in the United States since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Fifty-one percent said they are "very worried" or "somewhat worried" that women wearing the hijab are treated poorly, according to the poll.

Glad I’m not the only one who seems a little suspicious. And of course there’s no proof that it did or didn’t happen. It just seems a bit strange to me. Now had she said someone gave her a lecture about muslims, or said something quickly derogatory, I could almost believe that. The problem with lies is that the more details you give, the less believable it becomes.
My thoughts exactly.
Muslims are such liars about such matters.

As to the headscarf, it is as much cultural as it is religious. Ok, it’s a free country, and wearing a head covering like a scarf is a matter of choice. But to be veiled, or to wear the full-on head-to-toe garb is a cultural statement. In fact, and at this point in history, it’s a political statement too.
So how come this May 22, 2007 Pew poll has these Key findings:
* Overall, Muslim Americans have a generally positive view of the larger society. Most say their communities are excellent or good places to live.
* A large majority of Muslim Americans believe that hard work pays off in this society. Fully 71% agree that most people who want to get ahead in the U.S. can make it if they are willing to work hard.
* The survey shows that although many Muslims are relative newcomers to the U.S., they are highly assimilated into American society. On balance, they believe that Muslims coming to the U.S. should try and adopt American customs, rather than trying to remain distinct from the larger society. And by nearly two-to-one (63%-32%) Muslim Americans do not see a conflict between being a devout Muslim and living in a modern society.
* Roughly two-thirds (65%) of adult Muslims in the U.S. were born elsewhere. A relatively large proportion of Muslim immigrants are from Arab countries, but many also come from Pakistan and other South Asian countries. Among native-born Muslims, roughly half are African American (20% of U.S. Muslims overall), many of whom are converts to Islam.
* Based on data from this survey, along with available Census Bureau data on immigrants' nativity and nationality, the Pew Research Center estimates the total population of Muslims in the United States at 2.35 million.
* Muslim Americans reject Islamic extremism by larger margins than do Muslim minorities in Western European countries. However, there is somewhat more acceptance of Islamic extremism in some segments of the U.S. Muslim public than others. Fewer native-born African American Muslims than others completely condemn al Qaeda. In addition, younger Muslims in the U.S. are much more likely than older Muslim Americans to say that suicide bombing in the defense of Islam can be at least sometimes justified. Nonetheless, absolute levels of support for Islamic extremism among Muslim Americans are quite low, especially when compared with Muslims around the world.
* A majority of Muslim Americans (53%) say it has become more difficult to be a Muslim in the U.S. since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Most also believe that the government "singles out" Muslims for increased surveillance and monitoring.
* Relatively few Muslim Americans believe the U.S.-led war on terror is a sincere effort to reduce terrorism, and many doubt that Arabs were responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Just 40% of Muslim Americans say groups of Arabs carried out those attacks.

This is a summary not the whole report (pdf file) but I got to believe that if Muslims were "very worried" or "somewhat worried" in the numbers mentioned by CNN that'd be in the summary.
I did not find a link to the Pew poll CNN referenced. Perhaps someone can find the poll, until then..

No disrespect to hijab, or Muslim customs; but I couldn’t ignore a couple of things while reading this article and looking at Seyam’s picture. She spoke of modesty, inner beauty, and “shifting the attention from her outer self to her inner self”. My question is, did she thought of modesty and inner beauty before or after she applied heavy make up, powder, foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara, tint-shadow, lip-gloss and clipped her eyebrows?
Frankly, anyone who clings to medieval superstitions, and despises the linear trajectory of time, is to be avoided, no matter what they call themselves. The real war is not about Mooselimb verses the West, but that part of the world living in time shock lashing out at those who have adapted.
GUILTY.
Treating religions equally is American. A religion hellbent on domination, that's Islam.

I'm with you. This sounds like some cheap made-up story by some rookie junior journalist.
Notice that the person interviewed by CNN is.... the victim. Not witnesses who heard this guy sing the song, spontaneously, with mean lyrics. But the victim who has a cookie cutter hate crime hoax story that CNN doesn’t investigate but simply transcribes.
“According to Seyam, the zionist US invader appearing man replied, “What else does a terrorist look like?” and then according to Seyam, said ugly anti-muslim things and then tried to blame muslims for the Jewish conspiracy that brought 9/11 down upon the pig-dog US. Then according to Seyam “the man played a Porky Pig DVD in it’s entirety in front of my children to torment me.” According to Seyam she barely had time to get the story posted to CNN.com before the top of the newshour. CNN has confirmed the story by checking with Seyem who said “yes, this torture lasted many hours in line at the Walmart”

I believe in the concepts, “Trust but Verify” and “Confirmed by two or more reliable sources.”
What we have in reality is just another muslim (jam)creating a fictional tale to garner sympathy.
As to who is the real fool, that is very easy to deduce. A fool is one who fails to see the evil in the enemy, who will masquerade as a woman, man or child of the (ROP) hiding behind their religion of P-ss.
A fool will fall for the fabricated prevarications of the islamic- terrorists only to have their family’s and their own throat severed in twain.
Toby, your analysis is correct on all points. One can summize that prudent, logical and sane people know who deserves the title of the “Real Fool.”

Knowing how Muslims lie, as I work for many and have never seen a group so disposed to lying, I seriously doubt this.
The main problem with Muslims is that they do not denounce the terrorist so they seem to agree with them. I have to assume that if any of their brothers in Allah began a jihad in America, they wouldn't have the courage to help stop them.
This religion seems to mimic the Mafia.
The “hijab” is a threat to women and to a free society, at least symbolically. If I ever get the nerve to confront a woman wearing one, I’ll ask, “sister, why do you wear this tool of female oppression? Is it not like a Jew wearing a swastika?”
Your headscarf offends me, as does white robes with hoods.
