Per
Wiki:
"Give me liberty or give me death" is a famous quotation from a speech made by Patrick Henry to the Virginia House of Burgesses.
The speech was given March 23, 1775, at St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia, and is credited with having single-handedly convinced the Virginia House of Burgesses to pass a resolution delivering the Virginia troops to the Revolutionary War. In attendance were Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. Reportedly, the crowd, upon hearing the speech, jumped up and shouted, "To Arms! To Arms!"
Those darn lobbyists....

No, no, it’s all been a big mistake. Thompson is linked to work for Lesbians.

Wow! I’m glad! :)
If you haven’t checked out his announcement video on fred08.com, that’s a must see also.
The global warming issue is an extremely important one to me as well. And Fred is the ONLY candidate that’s at all viable that doesn’t buy into the idea. GW hysteria is something that can and will be used to regulate everything from the size of our houses to how many children we can have, if we allow it to take hold of our government.
Letting in one of these namby pamby liberal Republicans (Rudy McRomney) that want to appease liberals, will do nothing but allow GW hysteria to be validated. It will then be used to implement draconian regulations that will infringe on our freedom and stifle our economy.
As for Cox, he’s got the big momentum now. He’s closing in on Duncan Hunter’s .5%, so the presidency is practically his. Maybe if Fred’s nice, John Cox will ask him to be VP. Of course, I don’t know what Fred would bring to the John Cox ticket, since Cox alredy exudes oodles of gravitas as it stands now.

This is standard practice in law firms. Anyways, it wouldnt matter if Fred personally represented them. That is an integral part of our legal system. We dont have show trials in America. Bother sides are represented fully and to the best ability possible, and then a decision is made based on what is presented. Proper representation doesnt make the guilty any less guilty, though it gives the innocent a chance to prove their innocence.
To Kill A Mockingbird comes to mind...
And no one knows whether Fred called up the lawer to solicit the advice, or was told to by his boss. But, hey, WE ALL KNOW that anybody who does legal work for islamic terrorists must be an "islamic terrorists" lover.... Don't ya know...

For the record, though, my loyalty to the Cox/Thompson ticket is strictly contingent upon the unlikely event that Jim Gilmore doesn’t re-enter the race.

Well, that goes without saying. I’m still mad at him for not endorsing anyone when he dropped out. All of those legions of fans and nowhere for them to turn...

OK, your opinion or whatever. When Reagan jumped into the presidential race his GOP detractors pointed out that he was an B movie actor, a former but long-time democrat and that he was a union member and former union president. Would those have also been habitual problems for RR?

The clintons avoid this by simply misplacing all the law firm billing records ;-)

Interesting that a hard leftist like Culver would ask Thompson for advice and not someone like his old roommate Ted Kennedy. It shows how respected Fred was before he was a senator.

In a choice between Rudy or Fred, go with Fred.
Guliani's campaign is bound to implode at some point.

Not just Aristide.
Libya was facing international outrage for refusing to comply with a United Nations demand that the two suspects be extradited to the West for trial in the 1988 bombing, which killed 270 people. Revelations that American firms were representing Libyan interests provoked a furor among the Pan Am victims families. Some law firms refused to represent the country or the suspects, while others withdrew.
