Ron Paul = Hillary on the War; Rudy Giuliani = Hillary on abortion, etc
Vanity | Jim Robinson

Ron Paul = Hillary on the War; Rudy Giuliani = Hillary on abortion, gay rights, gun control, illegal aliens, etc. Neither are conservative. Neither are Republican. I would no more vote for the "Republican antiwar candidate" Ron Paul or the "Republican pro-choice candidate" Rudy Giuliani than I would the treasonous butcher Hillary Klintoon.

JMHO.

The Ahmedinajad thread on ronpaulforumsdotcom today was quite disturbing. L.Ron has some very sickening followers, and seems to be unwilling to repudiate them.

Reagan was not about Republicanism, he was about Conservatism. He ran against a moderate sitting Republican POTUS....it was all about conservatism.

Sorry, all of that is complete BS. Paul says he does all those things and he is Jesus Christ of the Constitution in his own mind and in the mind of his followers, but this has all been analyzed in depth here on hundreds of threads.

Paul is a moderate libertarian who loves the sound of his own voice.

Ron Paul in a nutshell, is all about symbolism over substance. He cares more about symbolic votes that he claims are upholding the Constitution than the substance of those votes. He cared more about the symbolism of voting against funding our troops in the middle of battle than he cared about actually funding US Soldiers who were being shot at. Even most of the Democrats weren’t that stupid.

Ron Paul has rolled up the Constitution into a little flute and he is playing a tune, leading the gullible off the cliff, all for his own little game.

After Reagan lost the primary fight to Ford, he publicly supported Ford and one would logically assume voted for him.

I don't recall Reagan having a pity party and voting for a single issue candidate.

I'm a conservative, not a republican. But I'm not going to throw away my vote on a general election candidate that enables the GREATER of two evils to prevail.

"jackieaxe (I'm voting for Ron Paul in spite of the Neocon/Big Government Republican propaganda!)"

So am I.

It doesn't take courage to agree with everyone else.

And all three of them (Hillary, Kucinich and Ron Paul) are in league with the America-hating CodePinkO group and the World Socialist Party’s International Answer.

My goodness!

Actually, Ford blamed Reagan right up to his recent death for failing to campaign for him in a couple of narrowly decided states. Ford thought that would have made the difference but he thought Reagan held back, not wanting him elected to his own term in the WH. Who knows how much this is true or not. But Ford was bitter about that and about the conservative wing of the party insisting that he dump Nelson Rockefeller as his VP. He said he regretted that the most.

Well, it's off-topic but these high-stakes politicians hold a lot of grudges and have a lot of personal issues between them. It's part of their nature but it is played out larger in their lives because they perceive the stakes as so high, given how it is covered on TV and written into history. So bitterness from pols is probably the rule, not the exception.

Agreed. I’ve read the same. Clearly Reagan didn’t beat the drums for Ford but he didn’t go third party either.

By the way, someone up thread has already pointed out that Ron Paul is really closer to the moonbat Dennis Kucinich on the war. And that’s true. And all three of them (Hillary, Kucinich and Ron Paul) are in league with the America-hating CodePinkO group and the World Socialist Party’s International Answer.

If Charlie Manson likes carrots and I like carrots, that does not make me a mass murderer. Same thing here. Yes, Ron Paul and the 2 demo dingbats you mentioned all oppose the war. This does not make Ron Paul a big government liberal democrat. Also, H*llary would be for the war if it thought it would get her the presidency, and Dennis K thinks we should surrender to the world, and divert the war money to handout programs to thugs and bums that don't work.

I no longer think this misadventure is worth it. PM Maliki came to Washington and expressed hope for a Hezbollah victory over Israel. If the best we can hope for is a pro-terrorist government in Iraq, let's go. There's validity to the argument that if it don't involve us, we shouldn't be looking to get involved. Yes, there's oil in the Middle East, but one brutal Arab dictator versus another, either way they have to sell us the oil. I barf when I read Saudi Arabia is our ally. In a round about way I'm getting to my point that there appears to be a lot of misinformed people who think Ron Paul should be a Democrat. George Bush and the Republican Congress grew the federal government between 2-3 times inflation with NCLB, free drugs for seniors and the lack of courage to cut a thing. Americorps is still funded for $250 million per year. Ron Paul voted against all this new spending. Actions speak louder than words. I'm voting for Ron Paul. I'm against continuing the Iraq War and the continued expansion of the federal government.

Look, jackass, he’s an antiwar moonbat. In case you don’t know it, Free Republic supports the war against the Islamic jihadists 100%. If FR is not your cup of tea, please leave. Meanwhile, you will not be dissing our conservative candidates or promoting antiwar moonbats on our forum where we support our troops and our commander in chief and their mission.
