Gleen Beck had Pastor John Hagee on his show last night. They discussed the end times. I think this was one of the best interviews I have seen in a long time. It was very interesting. Did anyone see it? Here is the transscript

I love Free Republic. As a post-tribber, I recognize the people who post here as the people I want to be identified with, good conservatives who take a stand against the political apostasy going on all around us. An apostasy I see that will lead the world ultimately to the antichrist. We Freepers need to stick together. We need to be prepared mentally and physically for the days ahead.

No true follower of Christ can identify with what the Democrats have come to be.

Democrats = apostates

Unknowingly, paving the way for the evils of the endtime.

Per my post #174, we will live to see the time when God steps in on our side…with wrath. God, you see, knows how to aim!

If we have smart bombs that can target the enemy while not destroying others around, God certainly can do as well! He knows how to direct his wrath. We’ve got interesting times ahead. Stay tuned…

If you hear of this being rebroadcast, let me know, please?

I’m shocked that CNN showed it once! CNN isn’t exactly prone to criticize Islam or support Christianity!

There are those who have not accepted Christ in this present age, the Age of Grace, who will come to know Him during the Tribulation.

They will be murdered by the Antichrist because, having accepted Christ as Savior, they will refuse to worship the Antichrist and are therefore beheaded.

These are the people God is referring to when He says:

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Revelation 20:4).

People will be saved during the Tribulation but those who have accepted Christ since His death on the Cross up until the minute the Rapture takes place will not have to go through those seven years.

So, 80 percent of the us will be raptured (I think around 80 percent of America believes in Jesus).

Believing in Jesus is not enough. Demons believe in Jesus, and shudder in fear.

You are only saved when you confess your need to Him and accept Him as your Saviour.

The plagues of Egypt, for instance.

The plagues of Egypt? And how many thousands of years did the plagues of Egypt occur before Christ came on the scene?

There were no Christians around during the plagues of Egypt because there could be no Christians before Christ.

Therefore, Christians did not suffer through the plagues of Egypt and did not suffer that wrath of God.

I hear you. What percentage of that 80 percent applies? Could be 50% because two men will be standing in the field and then there will be one.

It seems speed of travel, communication and knowledge have all...

Art Bell wrote a book called "The Quickening" lol.

I don't recall the bible saying that when communication and travel speed up, Christ is just around the corner.

How much faster does it get?

Is there a code of some sort in the Bible that allows you or Pastor Hagee to interpret the current "rate of change" as a signal that Christ returns in the next decade?

Is the rate of change double, triple or quadruple? Is it a true rate of change, or merely our ability to see it and record it?

The invention of radio or TV didn't do it. Computers are getting faster, but we can't envision the next step in technological development. Is the moment nano-technology kicks in the moment Christ returns?

Back to wars, earthquakes, etc. They aren't really hastening. We are just more in tune with them. An awful lot of people thought the 6 day war was "it" at the time too. They were wring. Here we are, decades later.

This all seems rather silly.

If you pursue this stuff out of interest, as a hobby, or even as a meaningless academic pursue, great. More power to you. People love looking for "patterns" in things. It is fun to do.

However, if it begins to become the central theme of your faith, I would suggest you are missing the whole point.

Christ preached love first and foremost, not "interpreting signs for when he returns." Read his words, not Pastor Hagee's and you will see this.

Walking around the city square with a sign that screams "The end is near!" probably drives more people away from The Lord than to him. Especially since people have been doing it throughout history, and they've continued to be wrong. It serves no purpose but to make Christians look somewhat foolish.

Hey, you know your tagline says libs aint Patriots?

That is why they immunized themselves before they went to the NASCAR Race. They didn't want to catch Patriotism from the NASCAR fans.

“By that, I mean the earliest writings of church history until the times of Darby in the early 19th century were Post-tribulational and non-dispensational.”

For the sake of discussion, what do you make of these verses:

Pe 1:10-12 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

Heb. 1:1-2
God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son...

Eph 3:2-5
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

Joh 1:17
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

1Th 4:16-17
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

All the books/letters date to the first century (1Peter approx. 64 or 65 AD., Hebrews approx. 63-65 AD, Ephesians approx. close to the same time [around 60 AD, John’s Gospel a little later {late 60’s AD} and 1Thes. written before any of these around 50-51 AD).

There seems to be some internal evidence that suggests the bible itself speaks to its dispensational quality. Add to that the verses in Thessalonians concerning the “catching up” of those in Christ—the Rapture (consider also in Revelation where John is told to “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;”: Rev. 1 - the things which thou hast seen, Rev. 2&3 - the things which are and Rev. 4-22 the things which shall be hereafter [paying careful attention to 4:1 “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.”—with no mention of “church” after 3:14) and I think a very strong case can be made for the pre-trib, dispensational view of the bible and the last days.
