Private jets are not allowed to have ejection seats.

If you're correct it appears that no one told the owner of this jet. In the article, he's quoted as saying, "It was the most violent 4ft fall I have ever had," he says. "By the grace of God the ejection seat didn't fire."

What’s the carbon footprint of a Harrier Take-Off/Landing?

Just noticed your tag line.

I was TDY to Ubon (with Blind Bat) from Okinawa twice in 69 and 70 and returned for a full year tour with the 8th during 71-72.

Yeah, you’re right. I wasn’t thinking. My husband flew Harriers, so my mind went there. Ooops again.

Private jets are not allowed to have ejection seats. Apparently, the rockets and such in them makes them illegal to possess, so you ride it in. That much I know.

You are quite mistaken. The Collings Foundation F-4D is only one example of a privately owned jet equipped with ejection seats.

I stand corrected.

I was told by a jet jockey that when I was admiring his jet, and asked him about punching out. He told me that ejection seats were “not allowed”. I was mislead, and subsequently mislead you.

Michael Dorn [aka Worf from the Star Trek Series] owns an old F 86 “Saber” He stated in an interview that he got the flying “bug” while doing the TV series. He is also rated to fly supersonic over the ocean. So if you have the bucks you can just about purchase anything....
