Barry Goldwater, Jr. Endorses Ron Paul

Barry M. Goldwater, Jr. endorsed Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul for president.

“America is at a crossroads,” said Mr. Goldwater. “We have begun to stray from our traditions and must get back to what has made us the greatest nation on earth or we will lose much of the freedom we hold dear. Ron Paul stands above all of the other candidates in his commitment to liberty and to America.”

“Leading America is difficult, and I know Ron Paul is the man for the job,” he added.

You’re also welcome to suggest a more conservative candidate than Ron Paul. But since anyone else running is a liberal, this puts you in a difficult position.

Thompson, Hunter and Tancredo are all conservative. Did the people on both sides of this take their stupid pills today?

Upholding the Second Amendment and abhorring the murder of the unborn are not incompatible with (1) supporting America's soldiers in time of war

No $hit. That's why I'm a Thompson supporter.

and (2) refusing to humor morons who believe that 9/11 was "an inside job."

Ron Paul doesn't believe that.

Your support of Ron Paul cannot be solely ascribed to the two unexceptionable motives you mention.

There are plenty of other things that I and any conservative agree with Paul on. He has very high rating from conservative groups. He just happens to be wrong on one issue. His detrators remind me of people who are (rightfully) pissed at Bush on illegal immigration but refuse to give him any credit for the tings he gets right. It's intellectual laziness.

What a typical Ron Paul Tool you are, putting words in people's mouths.

I've watched CNN and their pals twist and distort the truth for years...you're not even a match for those transparent scumbags.

I guess we’ll have to see won’t we ? If we had nuked all of Iraq, that would’ve cost 0 American lives. I understand your bleeding heart for the innocent Iraqi’s. But in times of war, there is no time to feel sorry for those folks. We’re talking about preserving the security of OUR nation.

There is a reason you are flipping burgers or selling lattes instead of commanding troops and making vital decisions. The above statement of yours clearly validates that reason.

You want our soldier’s hands tied...

You go and find where I said or even implied any such thing. You're just not as clever as you think you are.

You’re content with a loss, and then just blaming the Democrats later about the loss.

Where on earth do you get that, you little twit? Again, you're not very good at this. Not even good enough to work at that lame MSNBC. You're full of an incredible amount of crap, though, if that's any consolation.

I’m content with nuking Iraq...

I hope you're also content with being an idiot. You've got to have gotten used to that by now, I suppose.

I'm not going to play your stupid Ron Paul game. I see you on here calling true conservatives "liberals." You've already shown your ass all over the place. You're just a typical little bitter cult member who wouldn't know true conservatism from the hole in your bong.

Oh, and by the way, "Iraqis" does not have an apostrophe in it. It is not a possessive; it is a plural.

Ron Paul would, and can still, fight the war on terror with more vigor, and place the necessary fear in our enemies.

Are you daft or just delusional?

RP has never given any indication that he would fight anything.

The person he initially called a liberal is a Rudy fan who supports assault weapons bans. I'd say his summation was right.

Are you pleased that National Right to Life endorsed Fred Thompson? I work with that group and I am concerned about Thompson on the pro-life issue-so I didn’t know what to think about the endorsement. Otherwise, there are many things that I like about him.

Ron Paul doesn't believe that.

Alex Jones does. And Ron Paul humors him by serving as a regular guest on his show and by never questioning Alex Jones' contention that 9/11 was "an inside job."

He just happens to be wrong on one issue.

He's wrong on drugs. He's wrong on foreign policy. He's wrong on Roe v. Wade. He's wrong on the border. He's wrong on education. He's wrong on tort reform. He's wrong on the Second Amendment. He's wrong on housing. He's wrong on the border.

Oh, and he's also wrong on terrorism and he's wrong on the war.

Intellectual laziness might be believing that Ron paul is only wrong one issue because one is taken in by his rhetoric and has not bothered to examine his abysmal voting record.

I'm no Rudy fan by a long stretch, but that little jerk of a poster has no credibility whatsoever with me. He spewed garbage all over the place and got what he had coming to him. He made the mistake of thinking he is clever when in reality, he is an idiot.

I call 'em as I see 'em.

The hardest part about debating with liberal Republicans is there inability to distinguish a liberal from a Libertarian. And then they must resort to name calling in place of a cogent argument.

Conservative = Iraq war supporter + any stance other issues
Liberal = Everyone else

Since that is the equation, then there’s really no hope that anyone will budge.

How exactly does the “ban” work?
Do agents come to your home and seize your assault weapons?
Or, are there simply regulations on the sales of weapons?
As far as unrestricted gun rights, could you own a personal cannon if you wanted to?

Let me be honest here. I personally have never owned or shot a gun and my personal preference is not to. That’s just me. That could change; it’s just my personal experience, the way I grew up. Duncan Hunter grew up just a 100 or so miles south of me, and was raised hunting and shooting etc. Btw, does Hunter supported civilian ownership and use of automatic weapons?

I’d like to think I’m not “afraid of freedom,” am however well aware of the power of deadly weapons.

You whine and complain about name-calling, but go back and read your post to me. It was rife with insulting assumptions about my opinions, blatant distortions and lies.

Again, you aren't clever enough to pull that off. You have overestimated yourself and you got what you deserved.

Are you pleased that National Right to Life endorsed Fred Thompson?

Absolutely! Fred is all about reversing Roe v. Wade. That's the only shot we have. There is no possible way that any sort of Constitutional amendment banning abortion would ever pass. Ever. If you'd like, I can direct you to some Thompson threads which debunk the nonsense thrown at Fred regarding abortion, let me know.
