What Would Free Republic Do If Fred Thompson Is Not The Republican Nominee? (Vanity)

It is very obvious that Fred Thompson is Free Republic most favorite candidate and by far. On the other hand every other top tier Republican candidate, Guiliani, Romney, Huckabee, and McCain are absolutely disdained by most Freepers. Therefore this is the important question:

What would Free Republic do if Fred Thompson is not the Republican Party Nominee?

I don’t think it is obvious at all.

If Thompson doesn’t get the nomination? Try to hold whomever does to the fire, constantly, so that the contingent of sanity isn’t forgotten anymore. No more amnesty tries, no more ‘no child left behind acts’ and compromise requires the other side to give something, not for you to simply give them everything.

That is what Free Republic’s all about, right?

Do the right thing, and vote for Duncan Hunter anyway, of course. It’s not likely going to be an election that we’ll get a good anti-communist (re. China), pro-Israel president from. It’s an opportunity to teach a lesson about us lowly voters vs. constituents who are drunk on imports, the internationally high dollar and oil (re. appeasement of Iran).

Because you'll be voting for Hillary.
I'll vote for any Republican but Paul.

Write-in or possibly 3rd party. Why waste a perfectly good vote on a RHINO?

Write-in or 3rd party? My goodness old wise one; why go to all that trouble. Just pull the lever for the Democrat nominee. Same thing and would save you some time.

Jeez!

I love Fred. But I’m really starting to like Huckabee.

It is very obvious that Fred Thompson is Free Republic most favorite candidate and by far.

I'd say that hasn't been my experience. There's been no shortage of Freepers spouting the "fire in the belly" line.

I would have to face that our Grand Old Party has gone back to the Gerald Ford years.

Reluctantly, very reluctantly if it is Rooti, support the nominee. Staying home or going third party is just giving the vote to the Democrats by default. I think we are going to end up with Fred, Mitt or Duncan. McCain is just too scary and Rudy is just to left. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I’d just hope it’s not Rudy. Or McCain. Or Huckabee. Or Paul.

This Thompson supporter will vote for the Republican nominee, regardless of who it is, and regardless of having to hold her nose closed with one hand. Period.
