you forgot pro criminal

All you had to do in Arkansas was claim you were a “born again Christian” to get a sentence commuted, or at least not denied.

I do, however, wish to not have those that think that simply BEING religious makes one a conservative, even if they're wrong on EVERY OTHER ISSUE. That's the problem we have with Huckabee...

Actually, that's a better descriptor of Romney. Folks think that because he's Mormon, he has conservative values. (Wrong-o, boy-o; you don't get to be a guv of MA via the conservative value route; Harry Reid; Sherrod Brown...other Dem examples of LDS).

As for your "EVERY OTHER ISSUE" there you're wrong. Huck is wrong on a # of issues, including clemency, illegal immigrants, ed issues, etc. but he's right on homosexual activism; he's right on protecting marriage; he's right on the 2nd amendment; he's right on religious liberty issues and he's right on a lot of healthcare issues. (It doesn't sound like you've checked him out comprehensively)

(He's also inexperienced on foreign policy stuff)

“...doesn’t critique w/any substance.”

If that isn’t a double negative, it’ll do.

I think conservative evangelicals should be insulted that you think Huckabee is one of them.

news flash.

Huckabee IS NOT a conservative.

never was.

That was obvious from day one.

He may have conservative positions, but he is dead wrong on most all others.

He raised taxes.
He advocates a new government entitlement program. (prebate check to every family the government approves)
He advocates anti-fat person laws. (no fun food for you)

The measure of a conservative is more than just the abortion issue or thumping on a bible.

Huckabee is not a conservative, learn to live with it.

I wonder what kind of conspiracy theories Ron Paul &; the Paulites are going to spout if he does badly in Iowa? That should be entertaining.

You are SO missing the point.

Yes, I actually rank Huck under Rudy. Reason being, Rudy will be less instrusive in my personal life than Huckabee the Nanny-stater.

Rudy also knows how to tell the terrorists to kiss his ass, unlike Huck, who kisses THEIRS.

Hunter didn’t campaign much in Iowa. Your threshold strikes me as high because of that, but that’s the way things are. Either he starts to emerge from the pack or he doesn’t. I’m hoping he does. He would make a better president.

thank you- thank you

BTW — Carter is an evangelical Christian.

Jimmy Carter — an honest Bill Clinton

Huckabee — Carter with an (R) after his name

As far as Fred...he’s always been pretty much the same on most things and admitted where he has been wrong.

I'm not so sure I'm ready to give him credit for this. It could be true, but illegal immigration is an enormous issue that is extremely tempting for politicians to just ignore and hope the clamor dies down. Corporations will lobby hard to keep the cheap labor flowing, and Democrats will push for the new voters, so the president needs to fight hard to get things done. I really want a crusader on this issue, and not one that has a so-so (or bad) record but a great plan.

I understand the caucus process begins at 7:30 et, that the Republican results could be available by 8:15 et and the Democrat results will require debate and bickering, twice, delaying them until 10ish et.
