Actually George McGovern was an excellent bomber pilot during WWII. He flew 35 combat missions over Europe as the pilot of a B-24 Liberator bomber, and certainly earned his Distinguished Flying Cross and Silver Star for gallantry in action against the NAZIs.
George McGovern is currently a foolish and misguided old man, but as a young man he was a hero who did his duty to help keep America free.
I think that it was his daughetr who was forced by her parents to have an abortion at 15 and later in life was found dead of alcohol abuse in a snow drift.Very sad story.

I refer sarcastically to the “conscience of a bomber pilot” that was prevalent during the late sixties in which WWII bomber pilots were scorned for their unconscience actions, not knowing if their bombs were killing innocent civilians or not and which led to “Catch 22” and other tomes on such warfare.
I think he should continue advising the democrat party.
