You should tell all the SC voters—”Don’t let Iowa and NH choose your favorite for you—if you like Fred better, make those dinky states learn to love him.”

That’s who it was first attributed to the morning it came out. Other threads suggested it was attributal to the McCain campaign or the Democrats.

I’m glad the first and most credible attribution proved true.

Romney doesn’t need to plant rumors about anyone dropping out. It’s all the msm talks about is who’s dropping out next. The media harps on everyone about when they are dropping out. Fred getting less than 1% in NH doesn’t help. Even nutbag Ron Paul got 8%.

This jerk Novak has only been too willing to rush to print with negative stories on Fred. Remember last week he was slobbering on this story and the “Fred will only get 1% in Iowa” baloney.

He’s part of the MSM effort to throw cold-water on the Fred campaign.

There is a pattern emerging from the RSM when it comes to dealing with Fred ....

Post 4 and 9 ....

Ah - RSM means Romney Sleaze Machine. Thanks for the insult./s

Gee, I never post negative stuff re Fred (ok, maybe once to point out he supported McCain/Feingold, but that happens to be the truth).

Do you know why I never spammed negative Fred posts? First, Fred's a fellow Republican and I like him. The second reason is, because of the poor campaign Fred has run, he had made himself totally irrelevant.

I requested one for Huck, McCain, and Paul earlier today but apparently FR is only against Rudy and Romney.

I’m afraid the place is starting to suffer from RDS (works for both candidates)

Romney is a slimeball and was smearing Fred before he even got in the race.

I saved emails that came directly from the Romney Michigan Headquarters smearing Fred before he even announced!

He is nothing but a worthless liberal puke!

Romney caught buying and awarding himself an 'award'.

"Behind the empty gestures and deceptive rhetoric, Romney was not pro-life
or a defender of marriage by any stretch of the imagination.
He was a disaster," said O'Gorman, of the board for Massachusetts Citizens for Life.
He said Romney "deceptively" claims to have been awarded
a pro-life award from the group.

"The award Romney arranged for himself with the local Pioneer Valley Chapter
was the Mullins Award for Political Leadership, not a pro-life award
and not approved by MCFL's state board of directors," he said.
"We're blowing the whistle to warn voters
"

What a bunch of baloney.. read this part of the news article:

Said Novak: The rumors were “traced in part to Mitt Romney’s campaign, trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson.”

But this being the high political season, full of dirty tricksters of every political stripe, there was no word on who exactly traced the whispers about Thompson to the Romney campaign.”

Let me see Rumors, from someone who can not be traced... what a load of crap. nothing exactly...blah blah blah

I am not a Mitt supporter but not only do I not believe this, I don't see any proof. All I see is Novak making a claim. He needs to name names and connect the dots.

Huckabee and McCain would have had far more to benefit from this. Specifically McCain.
