Scooter Clippard, who spent the past few months trying to get folks to open their wallet for Fred Thompson's ill-fated presidential campaign, now is dialing for dollars for John McCain.
Clippard, former national fundraising chairman for Thompson, is now national finance co-chair for McCain. The move came two days after Thompson shut down his campaign.
Says McCain, who hopes to get an endorsement from Thompson, "We are honored to have a key leader from my friend Fred Thompson's campaign. Fred made an invaluable contribution to this race and always enriched the discussion of ideas for America's future."

He has already endorsed McCain. Were you just referring to this particular election when Fred is going to have all this class and self-respect? He sure helped him out with McCain-Feingold (Formerly Thompson). He had the same position on border security and illegal immigration as McCain, before the presidential run. I wouldn’t be so sure about who Fred will endorse or even if he will endorse anyone.
Willard is the anointed candidate of Bush43 and Bush41 and is designed to move the party further away from needing Christians to form a majority in the Republican party.
We’re talking about this election.
And on that matter you are correct, he will not endorse anyone (until after the convention, when he endorses the GOP nominee.)
They are all equally horrible, not if you’re a Republican necessarily, but if you’re a conservative. The party has already been moved somewhere. Away from me for one. I think only the Huckster can beat Hillary or Obama. If he doesn’t add Hunter to the ticket I couldn’t care less either way. :)
Sounds good to me.
It’s about time elections were about politics, not religion.
Give me a candidate who talks to the people, not God, and talks about the economy and foreign policy, not his faith and his interpretation of the Bible.
The Huckster is the only Republican who would lose to Hillary.
Good thing he is no longer viable.
McCain, again with the right VP could beat the Dems, although it would be a lot harder.
Willard would be a disaster.
No matter how you slice it, conservatives need to rebuild from the bottom up.
Why do I have this image of a horn rimmed glass dud from Yale wearing a bowtie, who would give his very girlfriend over to a bunch of midnight thugs on the upper east side.
How a candidate emphasizes that is their choice.
If you vote for them, that is your choice.
Who is this Willard you are referring to?

If, Fred loses his mind and actually endorses mcloon, I will have lost all hope for the country.IF Fred endorses McLoon -- and that's a big IF -- that will say NOTHING about the country. It will only say something about Fred. Something very, very bad about Fred. Which is why Fred isn't going to do it. Why drag his own name in the slime and the mud?
McMexico and McChina...
The last thing the Democrats want is a tall, vibrant, healthy man like Mitt Romney standing next to their short, fat old hag during the national debates...
The last thing the Democrats want is a tall, vibrant, healthy man like Mitt Romney standing next to their short, fat old hag during the national debates...
And the last thing anyone needs is more MittWit nonsense about how dreamy Mitt’s looks are.
