What We Know About Client 9 (The soon to be former Governor Eliot Spitzer)
New York Magazine ^ | March 10, 2008

What We Know About Client 9 From a redacted copy of the sealed complaint about the Emperor's Club prostitution ring, we were able to extract the following details about Client 9's dealings with the organization, and his Washington liaison. Client 9, according to the Times, is the one alleged to be Governor Eliot Spitzer. We have no official confirmation of this. But below are the things that we do know about this mysterious player from the legal papers: • He refused to use a "traditional wire transfer" to pay the organization but arranged for an Emperor's Club girl to take Amtrak down to Washington for a visit. • Client 9 seems to have used the service before. • He also thought the choice of his prostitute, "Kristen," was "great" and "wonderful." • The agency charged him $4,100 for "Kristen"'s visit. • The tryst took place in room 871 of a Washington hotel. On a side note, the domain www.room871.com has already been purchased. • Client 9 was willing to pay "extra" for "better" services. "Kristen" was a pretty brunette, petite, five-foot-five and 105 pounds. • The fee ended up being $4,300, with the "extras." • "Kirsten" did not think Client 9 was difficult, but he might have asked her to do things ("basic things") that "you might not think were safe."

I am certain we will all have the opportunity to see a lot of Kristen in the near future. She’s probably a graduate student and will write a book on her experiences as a sex worker before heading off to the London School of Economics.

Re: 'Well, if you're gonna pay $4100.00 anyway, may as well get the "extras.'"

Maybe one of those nifty GPS navigation systems that highlights points of interest while "driving" ;-)

I don’t quite understand Democrat policy. It’s OK to take it by force, like BJ Clinton. It’s OK to kill for it, like Teddy the Swimmer. But its not OK to pay for it. What gives?

Trust me, he's a goner. This is newspeak, a preliminary statement, then it'll be official.

“Kristen” became uncomfortable when #9 insisted that she call him Bill and he referred to her as Hillary.

i'm on record as not being any fan of this guy. But I pity his family and even him. It's a disgrace to New York as well.

I'm also very surprised; I figured he'd wind up doing something like the last governor of NJ.

Democrats don’t resign over sex scandals. Spitzer will hang tough. I predict he will play the disability card - as in “sexual addiction” - and throw himself on the therapeutic mercy of the public. As to criminal charges, he was just a john. Johns generally don’t get indicted. And he was probably careful to use his own money to pay Karen and Temeka or whoever. So, basically, the argument will be “this is my private life, so butt out”.

That probably means unprotected sex, but it could also mean......ahem.......other things...........

I can't imagine that a high-end prostitute would risk unprotected sex for a mere $200 more. Musta been the other things. Sheesh.

The first caller to Hannity’s show was a woman who said what does it matter to me what he does in his time off, as long as he’s doing his job well? The fact that he broke the law meant nothing to her. I suspect there must be plenty more like her in NY. If there were to be a “do over” election tomorrow I’d bet Spitzer would win again. NY is too far gone.

Speaking of Hannity, he said he had a run in with Spitzer too after the latter had been a guest on his show. He didn’t get into detail but I suppose it was something like what Spitzer normally does when he gets criticized. He threatens his detractor with legal action, and tries to cut off free speech. I hope the governor is not monitoring what I say here....

I’d be shocked if Spitzer resigned.

Kwame Kilpatrick (”I did not have text with that woman”) used his former Chief of Staff as his booty call, conspired with her to have a deputy police chief and two other well-respected cops FIRED for following orders to investigate him, lied under oath and cost the city of Detroit taxpayers over $8.2 million in a backdoor settlement.

Um...he’s STILL mayor. He believes he’s on “an assignment from God.” HIS words.

Who knows, Spitzer might find religion in the next two hours. He’s arrogant enough to try to tell God what to do.

I’m betting he WON’T resign. Why should he, it was just about sex, right? (sarc off)
