(Obama) ‘Why can’t I just eat my waffle?’

SCRANTON, Pa. - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama kicked off a day of campaigning in Pennsylvania by dropping by a Scranton diner for a breakfast of waffles, sausage and orange juice.

But the press corps went hungry — hungry for an answer that is.

The Illinois senator brushed aside a question from one reporter on his reaction to former President Jimmy Carter’s description of a positive meeting with leaders of the Islamist Palestinian group Hamas.

“Why can’t I just eat my waffle?” Obama replied.

Reporters traveling with the Illinois senator, fighting with his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton over Pennsylvania ahead of its vote on Tuesday, are venting frustration over a lack of access to the candidate lately. Obama has not held a press availability in 10 days, though he has given dozens of interviews to local press in Pennyslvania.

Republicans have pounced on Obama’s “waffle” comment, suggesting he is evading tough questions.

“Today, Obama continued to dodge questions from the media, responding that he just wanted to eat his waffle,” the Republican National Committee said in an email sent to reporters that included press accounts of the waffle incident at the Glider diner.

Both Obama and Clinton are far less accessible to the media than presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, known for holding lengthy question-and-answer sessions with reporters on his Straight Talk Express bus.

The sessions last so long that some reporters say they run out of questions.

I don’t understand why we just can’t let him be while he drops a house on the witch. THEN, when she’s finally toasted for good, we move to his many weaknesses.

Plenty of time to deal with him AFTER, he finishes off the witch.

So simple, so obvious, why are we not being smart about this ?

“When the phone rings at 3:00 a.m., will the president be eating his waffle?”

“Chance the Gardener: Yes. In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again. “

Yep, that Kerry wafflehead float was hilarious! I like to think it won Pres. Bush the state of Ohio (along with our hard-working Ohio FReepers, of course.) I can’t believe a ‘rat candidate just one election cycle later would go anywhere near a waffle.

Not only does he want to be left alone to “eat his waffle,” along with that, he also wants to “drink our milkshake.”

I don't understand why we just can't let him be while he drops a house on the witch. THEN, when she's finally toasted for good, we move to his many weaknesses.

Because it's better if Hillary is the candidate.

If Obama loses in Denver, the Democract party managers will do everything they can to contain the disappointment, for sake of November.

If Obama loses in November, all bets are off, and America will burn. Which is bad (in theory)

Uh, ‘cause you’re running for President? And you haven’t had press availability for 10 days?

Who do you think you are, Chelsea Clinton?

Because he wanted a photo op in a diner and he cried when his photo op went awry. He could have eaten breakfast in his hotel room, in private, but no one could take pictures of him being just like one of us.

You know, unemployed, bitter, and clinging to religion and guns. :)

Probably the fault of the OJ. I’m sure he would have been more mellow and receptive, had he just ordered a pint of bitter, instead.

What, no SCRAPPLE??? Leggo my Eggo!

Seriously, B. Hussein merely wanted a photo op with pork on his plate to prove he's really an atheist. His old man drank alcohol and lots of it. It's not what goes in his mouth, but what comes out of it.

Whew, that one was a little obscure for me. Never saw the movie. Had to go look it up and watch a trailer. Looks interesting. Was it really a suspense movie as the trailer suggests?

“Was it really a suspense movie as the trailer suggests?”

No not really. More of a comedy in my opinion.
It's a bit of an off beat movie; but in my opinion a must see movie.
I see huge parallels between Obama and Chance the Gardner.
