Mike was diagnosed with esophageal cancer about 5 weeks ago.
He has finished his first round of chemo, and just started the second.
Many of you have been praying for him behind the scenes.
"I appreciate all the 'incognito' prayers....I know they make a difference."
The first round was rough, the second looks to be rougher.
He and his wife would appreciate your prayer support.
I Will my praying for my Brother
Great news!
Eat hearty redrock!!
Continuing prayers!
I believe Kathy said elsewhere that he is home now,
so praying he is feeling more comfortable and pain is eased.
Thanks!
Prayer BUMP
He is now happy to be home with his family. His pain is continual with meds, every 2 hours, knocking it down to 5 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Mike: "But the good news is that the Doctor says in about 7 more days the pain should start to go away. I cant wait."
I will post an expanded update when I get home from work tonight.
Thank you for the update, prayers continue for our fellow FReeper for pain to be eased, for comfort, and for peace of mind for him and those who love him.
That’s good to hear. Just don’t let those pain meds run out before you refill them. Make sure you keep enough on hand to put a smile on your face. And we’ll keep the prayers up.
Rest easy, Mike. Prayers will continue. Hope you can feel all the love and warmth us FReepers are sending your way!
Thank you for the update & prayers continue...Pandy
Thank you for the update. Prayers continue.
It will be a very long week for Mike, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Thank the Lord. Your FReeper friends continue to hold you in prayer.
Thank you Kathy for this good news update.
Still praying for you Mike.
Prayers continue for Mike.
This is not completely what we want, but surely an improvement. Thank you, Lord, for improvements in RedRock's condition and his comfort level.
Continued prayers. I hope the pain meds help and that he can go home soon.
I'm gonna wait for that, to ping everyone....
CONTINUED PRAYER, redrock!!!!!!!!!!
Mike is now happily home with his family. His pain is continual, with meds every 2 hours knocking it down to 5 on a scale of 1 to 10.
"This hurts worse than either wound I got in Vietnam. But the good news is that the Doctor says in about 7 more days the pain should start to go away. I cant wait."
He is expecting to have surgery sometime around the end of June to remove part of his esophagus and stomach (the parts with tumor) and rebuild everything. Surgery is intense and the Doctor says 10-14 days (or more) in the hospital.
"Good thing the Hospital is so nice!!!!"
"I have read and re-read every single post and it has helped me thru the pain."
"Whenever I get a little weak in my resolve (and it does happen sometimes) I think of the Prayer thread....and it helps to pull me thru."
Prayers continue for you and your family, Mike.
Prayers continuing for healing, peace and courage.
