A string of polls conducted by the Suffolk University Political Research Center over the past month--in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and, now, West Virginia--show that roughly 20 percent of Democratic primary voters are ready to vote for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in November if their choice candidate isn't the nominee.
The latest survey, which questioned 600 likely voters in Tuesday's West Virginia Democratic presidential primary, shows Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) trouncing Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), the national front-runner, by 36 points in West Virginia, 60 percent to 24 percent.
Obama may be his party's presumptive nominee, but the Suffolk University poll indicates it is unlikely he can carry this battleground state that Democrats have won in eight of the last 12 presidential elections.
The poll shows that almost a quarter of Democratic voters in the state (23 percent) say they will vote for Republican nominee McCain in November if their candidate loses the nomination battle. (See Poll ). Only 40 percent now say they will vote for the Democratic Party's eventual nominee no matter what happens in the primaries, while nearly a third said they would be undecided. I think the possibility of the Obamanation being the most powerful person on the face of the earth will most likely get conservatives to the polls, reluctantly to vote for Juan McCain.
Though I will find it extremely distasteful to vote for him, the thought of waking up everyday to the BS that will flow out of DC with a Marxist like Obama as POTUS and rat controlled congress will probably push me over the edge
He won't be writing legislation. The Houses of Congress do that and I will make sure that my Texas Senator Cornyn and Representative Culberson fight to not allow anything foolish get on his desk. It's gonna be a busy 4 years for us but we have to stay in the fight. Obama is NOT an option for the Whitehouse.

It’s really a shame GWB didn’t get 1 more on the USSC. Then we might have the luxury of handing things to Hillary or Obama & watch the Court swat down all the crazy leftist legislation that they’d churn out. But ole Ruthie Ginsburg is just hanging on by her aged fingernails waiting for the Next Coming.
I’m with you. If whoever we elect is going to institute liberal/leftist policies, I’d rather it be a democrat who we can at least openly oppose.

You keep saying that. Unfortunately, there are a good number of us that say the same thing about McCain.
His base is starting to warm up to him.

That squares with my unofficial tally of democrat hunters and vets I know. In fact, that number is much higher than 20%. But I bet they’ll get plenty angry after McCain gets in and he decides that hunters only need flintlocks and VFWs and Legions should be smoke and alcohol free.
