I agree, wholeheartedly... I truly fear for what may become of our country if Obama is elected... Heck, I’m kinda fearful of what may happen unless it’s a landslide victory against him... Even THEN I’m not so sure the agitators in our country will let it go by without causing some huge problems in our major cities. I think they’ve been looking for an excuse for some time now... Especially all those “youngsters” who are brainwashed into believing this crap, and are filled with adrenaline, and hate right now... Scary times, indeed.

I guess I shouldn’t assume but the in the picture of the guy holding the cardboard sign the surrounding heads look suspect to me.

For the time being, I removed the photo from my FR Profile/Home page, because you might be right. But if anyone here has photos or links to photos showing support for the Weather Underground among the commie-led "anti-war" movement protesters, please post it here and ping me. Tanks.

Hmmm... That’s actually kind of a tough question. Have you ever read the book by Jayna Davis titled, “The Third Terrorist”?

If I had to give you an answer off the top of my head it would have to be that the people who perpetrated the OKC bombing were tied to Islamic Radical Terrorists, while Bill Ayers is tied to Communists Revolutionaries. Not a whole heck of a lot of difference there when it comes down to it. Just depends on who you’d rather have oppressing you, I guess...

Actually, I could probably come up with a lot of differences between them - one’s dead, the other is free as a bird. There were serious problems with defense and evidence in the OKC bombing according to Davis’ investigations - Ayers walked away due to a technicality....

However, ultimately their actions had as their goal the same outcome - the downfall of the US (and her government). And, nowadays, it would appear that the Islamic Radicals and the Communists are building alliances, so perhaps they are not all that much different after all?

Does that kind of answer your question? Or, would you like to tell me what your answer to that question is?

What’s the difference bewetten Bill Ayers and Timothy McVeigh?

For one thing, Timothy McVeigh was basically an isolated psycho, not part of a huge international movement to overthrow the American government. Another is that Timothy McVeigh didn't help launch John McCain's political career. Also, McCain didn't serve on a board with McVeigh for several years, or appear with him at various speaking events such as the following:

The Center for Public Intellectuals & The University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC)
April 19th-20th, 2002, Conference

[Participants include: William/Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Sen Barack Obama]

"This conference is part of the Center's mission of helping to create a more engaged civil society, working towards social change, fostering coalitions between theorists and activists, and combating anti-intellectualism in contemporary culture. It will be both a celebration of ideas and a rigorous examination of the roles and responsibilities that intellectuals play in society."

You're welcome, and thank YOU for the compliment. (I had to look up "cogent"!) :)

Great points, ETL... I don’t think McVeigh was an isolated psycho exactly, and I do think he had ties to Islamic Radicals (see Jayna Davis’ book “The Third Terrorist”).

However, the other points you make are very good...

One thing that occurred to me right after I posted is this - and correct me if I’m wrong, but was this what you were getting at, massgopguy?

1. McVeigh was (according to his beliefs and statements) fighting against the radical socialist and anti-Constitutional/anti-gun actions of the Clinton’s and the Democratic Party when they were in power. If one is to believe what we read - McVeigh was supposedly getting revenge for Waco by participating in the OKC bombing. It was more of a convenience factor I believe that he worked with the Islamic Radicals. [This doesn’t, IMO, make what he did right - I don’t think we’re at the point to call for a revolutionary war/civil war, as McVeigh had suggested in the years leading up to the bombing.]

I also truly believe that the Clintons capitalized on McVeigh’s involvement thus letting the real masterminds - the terrorists who have ties to the same cell that went on to commit 9/11 (the group STILL in Norman, OK), and some say most likely the OU Bombing too - get away all in an effort to prove their point about how “dangerous” the “bible-clinging, gun toting”, Constitution-loving, “conservatives” were in our country at the time... (to paraphrase Obama).

2. Ayers is on “their side”... (meaning leftists, liberals, communists, and Democrats) and has NO INTENTION of keeping our constitution intact should they ever have the opportunity to do away with it... He has readily admitted that the revolution he is calling for is NOT to restore the Constitution, but rather to dismantle our government and set-up a Communist government in its stead.

Gosh, you’ve got me writing a pamphlet here, eh??? LOL
If I were to really examine these things closely I may have expressed some of these things differently, and I would definitely double-check some of the things I have attributed to McVeigh, as it’s been a LONG time since I’ve delved into those subjects, honestly.

I go to a small Catholic university on the Main Line in Philadelphia. I’m trying to do my part to fill their quota of (evidently one) conservatives on campus.

I don’t think McVeigh was an isolated psycho exactly...

You can hardly compare any movement McVeigh might have been associated with or inspired by to the vast international revolutionary communist movement. Communists are teaching in our schools, all throughout the movie, television and music industries, leading the so-called "anti-war" movement, and now are on the door step of planting one of their puppets president of the United States. Also, Ayers' group and others like it were aided by foreign communists, including the KGB. Please see my post again.

The backstory gets a little complex, but this is worthy of taking the time to understand. The close connections between Obama and Ayers (and his wife Dohrn) are only now beginning to be untangled and understood. We're seeing the tip of the iceberg, and it becomes obvious there is much more to come. For a companion piece, see this thread on the Annenberg Foundation: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2068882/posts

Please don’t get me wrong - I’m not saying that McVeigh had anywhere near the “connections” or the ability to ravage our country like the communists, have and ARE doing presently. In that sense you are definitely correct that he was an isolated psycho - I can definitely see your point and I agree... The Communists have been working at this long and hard, and are very methodical. McVeigh was more the “angry” type that “broke”.

Sorry I wasn’t more clear on that.

.

Yup - Thanks

I can composite a tiny /X/BLACK.gif square on upper left TV of the one I enlarged and cropped to a 4:3 980x735 size

The other 2 might make a good 1-2 animated .gif - Sometimes they work out well by adjusting the delay speed

The trick is too try to crop and resize photos where the cameraman or TV camera has moved from frame to frame

I found the following while using Google.com - from Obama’s website. Granted this isn’t about Obama and Ayers, but it does show another connection with these communist revolutionaries and the Democrat Party...

The following was posted in Talking Points Memo 4/25/2008 under TPM Campaign Wire Hill on Brinks radical: I didn’t know!

hillary423

In an interview yesterday, Hillary — whose connection to President Clinton’s 2001 sentence commutations for two members of the Weather Underground has become an issue since she tried to raise questions about Obama’s acquaintance with another ex-Weatherman — told “Inside Edition” that she “didn’t know anything about” the 2001 clemency case.

You can watch the video below. If it’s true, it means that she got the worst briefings in the world when she was running for Senate in 2000 and the clemency issue was hot in Rockland County, and it means that Chuck Schumer didn’t even bother to mention the issue to his fellow NY senator-elect/ First Lady after promising the widows of two dead cops to fight against one of the clemencies.

Here’s the chronology:

On October 19, 2000, as Hillary was hunting for Senate votes throughout New York, Rockland County’s biggest paper, the Journal News, ran a front page story reporting that imprisoned radical Susan Rosenberg — linked to the 1981 Weather Underground Brinks robbery that left two Nyack cops dead — was seeking clemency from Bill Clinton.

The next day, the widows and fellow state and local police attended a memorial service for the two dead cops at the site of the killings. Also in attendance: Sen. Chuck Schumer, who in that fall was frequently campaigning with Hillary. According to another front page story, on Oct. 21, he made a pledge to the widows to fight the clemency: “I intend to take our opposition as high as I can in government.”

On December 16, 2000, after Hillary became New York’s Senator-elect, the paper did another Page 1 story about an upcoming 60 Minutes episode on Rosenberg’s clemency application. It included a quote from one of her new constituents, Diane O’Grady, wife of one of the dead cops: “This is a woman who has taken lives.”

On December 17, 2000, the “60 Minutes” piece on Rosenberg’s case and clemency request ran.

So, Clinton — in her effort to avoid being connected in any way to the case — now says she knew nothing about it. Nobody briefed her, either while she was running or after she was elected, on an emotional hot-button issue that intersected her husband with her constituents. Her husband, who invited her to sit in on a White House meeting with another group of Rockland County residents seeking pardons for four Hasidic members of their community, never so much as mentioned Rosenberg.

And Schumer, after making a pledge to widows, never thought to even bring it up with his fellow Senator-elect, who owed him for helping her get elected, and recruit an ally who was widely seen as an influential advisor to her husband, the president. This being the same Schumer who figured out how to take the Senate away from the Republicans!!!

We asked Schumer spokesman Josh Vlasto whether his boss ever spoke to Hillary: “Chuck was the leading advocate against the pardons. He made his arguments to the Justice Department....He talked to the people who could effectuate the decision.” We asked for a more direct and responsive answer on whether he ever mentioned it to Hillary, and couldn’t get one.

In her assiduous efforts to have nothing to do with the Rosenberg case, Clinton’s spokesman has previously said she had no opinion about it except to think that a presidential pardon is a presidential pardon.
