DIRTY TOOLS (MoveOn offers $5000 bounty for dirt on Palin's husband)

DIRTY TOOLS

As Obama operatives scour records in Alaska for dirt on Gov. Sarah Palin, they are also seeking embarrassing materials about her husband. And it isn't just the Obama campaign. Several left-wing groups with ties to MoveOn.org have used their network to offer as to $5,000 for damaging employment or personal information about him.

Meanwhile, the Obama campaign has asked the DNC to coordinate surrogates that appear on camera to attack Gov. Palin. "Last Friday, the Democrat women they put all looked old and tired, nothing like what folks were seeing from Palin," says an Obama media adviser. "It was like, 'we don't have any good-looking younger representatives to put up?'"

Maybe someone should post the article as it’s own thread. The mitt-haters are obviously suffering from withdrawal since Palin was picked instead of Romney.

I think they secretly were hoping Romney would be the VP pick so they could have an excuse to keep attacking him. Now that he’s not, they are desparate to spam unrelated threads just so they can hate him some more.

The article you posted says NOTHING about “lies about Palin”. It says that some people who preferred Romney questioned the pick of Palin.

I don’t know if you noticed, but after Palin was announced, there were freepers here who had supported OTHER picks who also questioned the pick of Palin.

Your (and other’s) attempts to hijack this thread by falsely claiming that an unrelated article mentions “lies about Palin” will not work.

Soros money. And Soros money comes from the immoral market practice of shorting.

He already has no chance. This was his one opportunity, and it is gone.

He’s already pretty old. By 2012 he’ll be even older. Without the VP slot, he won’t have any more experience than he had this time around, and several of the more conservative up-and-comers will have years of additional experience under their belts.

Romney was a pick this year because the front-runners were not conservative, and no clear conservative was in the race, so it made sense for a lot of sane conservatives to take a chance on a man who had a great conservative platform to run on.

I certainly hope we don’t make the mistake in 2012 of NOT having a clearly solid conservative running for office. If McCain loses, I would expect Jindal and maybe some others to surface over the next 4 years.

But I do understand that some people have such a derangement that, even within days of finding out that their “fears” are baseless, are already skipping forward 4 years to justify their ocntinued fear and angst.

We have a ticket to get elected, and it’s a shame that some people are just too wrapped up in MDS to focus.

Who are these “former romney supporters” that were attacking yesterday? I was answering a lot of the criticisms, and I didn’t recognize any of them as former Romney supporters (granted I don’t know personally the names of every freeper who supported Romney, but I recognize most of the major ones and they all seem happy enough with the Palin pick).

The guys I have been arguing with seem more like Ron Paul and Bob Barr types.

I mostly agree, but at least this rumor:

1) was about an actual candidate, not the daughter;

2) had a public face who was willing to testify to it’s truth.

What excuse does CNN have for reporting the false, baseless, and evil rumor that trig was actually Bristol’s child?

Not you, Charles, but a couple of others in the 1,900-2,250 range of posts with whom I exchanged a couple of shots.

I shouldn’t be so critical. I do know that a few of the real moralists here at FR were upset that so many of us seemed to be dismissing premarital sex as “no big deal”.

I understood their point. I think they had trouble distinguishing “political” from moral”. You can argue that something is morally a big deal, but still argue that politically it isn’t a big deal.

I think a few vocal supporters of several other VP possibilities were pushing the attacks. It is natural that if you really wanted someone else, you would be upset at “bad news” about the actual pick. But it’s delusional to link that type of activity from a few supporters back to the CANDIDATE, as if it’s his fault.

I see NO indication that Romney would ever support these kinds of attacks against a family, but I think the Mitt-haters are convinced he would personally lead the charge. That’s how delusional they are, how much they hate him.

Personally, I think their blind hatred and bigotry detracted from their sometimes valid arguments against Mitt’s candidacy. Mitt was a flawed candidate, who many supported because no other candidate was less flawed and at the same time viable enough to defeat Rudy.

BTW, I would react the same way to suggestions that Huckabee was leading this attack (actually, I’ve seen one or two posters suggest that this is driven by Huckabee or his supporters, but nothing like this Mitt derangement attack on this particular thread).

“For tough questions we know he will get to questions we plant with reporters that we want asked, [senior campaign staff] will rehearse [Obama’s] answer with him.” Are they admitting that the MSM is working in concert with Obama?

Can’t private citizens, even when related to public figures, sue for slander?

Palin’s daughter should sue the Daily KOS for slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress. If Moveon.org slanders Todd, he should do likewise. These hateful organizations need their koffers depleted.

The Romney Slime Machine is just itching to start bashing Palin, so they can go back to trying to cram their liberal down our throats.

I understand and agree but my point is that both accusations are equally vile and without any evidence.

sinclair, the, as you describe him, "public face willing to testify to its truth", is the most untrustworthy and unreliable sort of individual one can find. No LEO or DA or journalist worthy of the title would take his word for anything without iron clad proof.

By championing this coman's game when even WND kicked him to the curb we have lowered our own standing as a reputable source.

Maybe the Dems are counting on Palin’s devotion to family, because most mothers would not put their husbands and children through this. Maybe they’re counting on not having to show their ugly face so long that they will turn off all Americans.

But if this family could pull together and tough it out, and I think they just might have that kind of grit, she’ll look even better in the eyes of Americans.

Well I for one hope they do continue to attack Palin, because while such attacks will fail miserably, it will prove once and for all, when it comes to Mitt and his Mittoids, especially here on FR, it was NEVER about conservatism, but all about the shiny object of their obsession...

No wonder Soros would be especially vindictive against the anti-corruption governor from Alaska.
