Michigan “independent” in much-linked Palin focus group is … a Cindy Sheehan supporter

Go figure, huh? Why, it’s even stranger than finding the media mistaking a Democrat for a “lifelong Republicans.”

Or Andrew Sullivan for someone who’s “right-leaning.”

Ilene Beninson, 52, Berkley independent: “Her speech contained few statements about policy or the party platform. … I am not convinced that Palin’s experience as a mayor or governor in Alaska meet the qualifications to be vice president much less one stroke or heart attack away from being commander in chief.”

Maybe Beninson’s in line with independent thinking notwithstanding her affinity for Mother Sheehan, though. Who knows?

Actually, I do. Palinmania:

After viewing Palin’s speech, a greater number of respondents across all parties believe that selecting

Governor Sarah Palin for vice president will help John McCain’s campaign. Republicans were especially positive about the implications of this pick, nearly three-quarters of whom suggest that this nomination will “definitely help” his campaign. After viewing the speech, 70% Republicans say they will “definitely” vote for the McCain/Palin ticket after viewing Palin’s speech.

There is a positive change in how independents anticipate voting in the Presidential election after viewing Palin’s speech, with a 9% increase among independents indicating that they will probably or definitely vote for the McCain/Palin ticket after watching the speech.

Palin’s speech proved to be equally effective in swaying votes for both men and women. Among the independents who watched her speech, respondents who report that they will “probably” or “definitely” vote for McCain increased by 10% across both genders, around 38% of female independents and 36% of their male counterparts.

Exit question: On a scale from one to 10, with one representing utter despair and 10 representing very cautious pessimism with strong hints of doubt, where should the big A’s mood meter regarding the GOP’s chances be set this afternoon? (Answer: Seven!)

A ‘lifelong Republican’ being interviewed by the MSM is almost assuredly a shill.

If they have to lie, they're in really bad shape. Although they're gonna pretend their polls say otherwise. Yeah, right!

The whole panel was loaded with plants

one code pink activist
one gay rights activist
one Hillary admirer.

All listed as independents.

Just goes to show you how dishonest the other side is! Why they think identifying themselves that way will somehow herd us into their way of thinking is just crazy. Just shows how easily they are swayed!

It’s a good sign that they’re scrapping the bottom of the barrel finding ‘lifelong’ republicans with Code Pink membership cards.

It's almost like a badge of honor with the libs. The "journalist" who can present the most outrageous bias to the public with a straight face is seen as the most committed liberal. Kind of like giving the final full measure of themselves.

Reminds us of the old trolls, former exposed trolls, and new trolls on FR, who hate Republicans, the President, John McCain and now Sarah Palin, and claim to the real walk on water conservatives.

Oh those darn “news” media. They are becoming more like a parody of themselves every day. Morons. Even as polls show a majority of Americans do not believe or trust them, or think they are biased, they continue with these shenanigans. They probably know though that even when they get caught they can still get away with this nonsense.

An Obamamedia independent actually being a true independent would be the story of the century.

Too bad they'd never blow their cover and write it.

The first time I heard read this line of critism burst out laughing. I'm amazed that its still being repeated. Its like people living in a glass house throwing stones at somebody in a wooden house--from inside their house.

"I am not convinced that Palin’s experience as a mayor or governor in Alaska meet the qualifications to be vice president much less one stroke or heart attack away from being commander in chief."

Age cannot wither nor custom stale the infinite irony of Obama supporters who repeat this mantra. Four presidents generally ranked in the top fifteen by historians have had experience comparable to Governor Palin’s prior to assuming office: Franklin Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Grover Cleveland.

Sarah Palin spent four years as a City Council Member for Wasilla, Alaska, six years as Mayor of Wasilla, and two years as Governor of Alaska.

FDR spent just over two years in the New York State Senate, eight years as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and four years as Governor of New York.

Theodore Roosevelt three years in the New York State Assembly, two years as Governor of New York, one year as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and less than one year as Vice President of the United States.

Woodrow Wilson spent eight years as President of Princeton University and two years as Governor of New Jersey.

Grover Cleveland spent two years as Sheriff of Erie County, two years as Mayor of Buffalo, and two years as Governor of New York.

Overall, I’d say that Palin’s background is comparable with that of several presidents considered highly successful, even considering that her state has a smaller population than the other two states on the list.

While Obama has been running for office for as long as Palin has been running a state, I find it hard to consider the two tasks as comparable preparation.
