Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!
YES! I was planning to vote holding my nose, but now I can vote with a smile on my face.

Isn’t that the honest truth. I can’t imagine a better choice. I’m pumped and my friends are as well (well, I haven’t talked to my Democrat friends about it, but I’ll bet they AREN’T pumped!)

I’m voting for McCain to have the opportunity to keep the seat warm until 2012. I’ve seen even the most anti-McCain folks turn based on this announcement. It really does give Conservatives hope (for lack of a better term) for the future of the party.
We can use our leverage through donations and making our voices heard (just like Meyers) to keep McCain in check for a few years- leverage we won’t have with Obama.

We have all have reservations about Senator McCain. However, anyone that is wise enough to pick Governor Palin has got to have something going for him. I’m voting for him without reservation now. It will be fun to see this team go to work.
I also think we may well be seeing a future POTUS in Sarah Palin.
I agree, Jim. As I’ve said in a previous thread, despite my reservations with John McCain I find his choice of running mate inspired. Senator McCain and Governor Palin have my full support.
When I heard Jimmy Carter say McCain was milking his POW past for political gain, it totally made me change and want to support McCain. Palin was just icing on the cake.

When McCain was speaking those words, and the people were cheering I got goose bumps. And I could also see the campaign commercial.
The difference is that I am now willing to devote time and money to the cause and more importantly, I feel that this ticket can actually win and win big!

The RNC had their speakers at the Convention.
Mel Martinez, Joe Lieberman, Rudy, Tom Ridge, Romney, etc.
They have made their choice, it is not toward Conservatism.
I would suggest at least holding off support until the Debates.
For myself, I'm leaning toward the Nuclear Option.

Same here. If the VP had been a RINO, I would have stayed home for the first time ever in a presidential election. As it turns out, McCain showed some serious conservative mojo in his first presidential-level decision. This shows that he is listening to conservative advisers, and bodes well for who he would pick for the Supreme Court.

I understand. I’ve always known that I would vote for whoever wasn’t Obama or Clinton, but the enthusiasm has been gone ever since Fred dropped out. But this Sarahcuda has put the fun and excitement back into the race.

I think God hoodwinked the enemy on Palin.
I still don’t trust McChurian any further than I could throw AZ but I’m thrilled with his choice of Palin.
I think we need to pray earnestly for her safety . . . etc.
