Too hot for YouTube! NBC's Palin 'incest' video yanked

YouTube has pulled from its website a video of a "Saturday Night Live" skit featuring characters portraying New York Times reporters investigating whether Todd Palin was having sex with the couple's own daughters after NBC expressed a claim of copyright, even though a wide range of other "SNL" clips remain available.

You can criticize the NY Times and not include an innocent family. If you want to do a skit about them making something up, make it something outlandish. This was just an opportunity for SNL to get a dig in to the Palins.

Rush mentioned it today and made the same point posters here have which is that they would never have done this to Obama. Never. It is disgusting, vile, and considering all the junk that has been thrown at Palin it just really opens up a huge wound. The whole media world has gone straight to the toilet.

2008, the year the media finally flopped over and died. I hope the last real journalist turned off the lights.

Okay, let’s not overreact.

SNL pulls all their stuff on YouTube for copyright reasons.

True enough, the incest joke was horrible and not funny.

I thought the rest of the skit was all directed at NYT's arrogance but using Palin and Alaska as backdrop.

Have you seen the SNL thing? Franken is the guy behind it. It's something out of his mind. So why is Franken thinking of such things?

The man is sick. No one should be defending him. We have to get to the bottom of this even if some of his campaign assistants have to be dragged out into the public square and interrogated at length.

exactly, there has been plenty of things that they could have done skits on that would not be flattering to Obama, and nada. There wouldn’t be such outcry if they had used some other subject, her hunting or something, but to throw out there incest was deliberate and cruel.

Palin's been getting some fair treatment from Entertainment Tonight and Rachel Ray lately.

Speaking of Rachael Ray, I was browsing one of the PUMA sites, and discovered that McCain and Mrs. McCain were on Rachael Ray's show (maybe today?), and McCain was grilling ribs. The PUMA site posted a clip of the show, and, although I'm not a fan of McCain, he was charming. Rachael gave him a "Kiss the Candidate" apron, Mrs. McCain put it on him, and gave him a kiss, and the audience went wild. He prepared and cooked baby-back ribs, Mrs. McCain said they bought their ribs at Costco, and, again, crowd went wild. Very nice, relaxed, friendly, easy-going segment, with a nice audience - Rachael's a Class A personality type, and McCain didn't let her get a word in edgewise.

Granted, they mostly talk about clothes and shoes, but they seem to know who their audience is, and which side their bread is buttered on.

I quit watching Ray when I realized what a liberal dem she was.

This could all be done in black face...

Is Ted Danson available?

Rachel is a Liberal ditz. She has a fabulous personality ~ kind of like Sarah. I watch her from time to time. In fact, I even watch the crazy old Polish lady with the crushed pink marble driveway.

She reads my stuff anyway.

Fortunately these people only represent two votes, and both vote in states where most of the people are happy to throw away their power to Democrat criminals anyway.

I want them to stay happy and stay where they are, and not move to Virginia!

Letting them know that you're banning them is always good, but it's more of a feel good thing for you than an effective instrument to whack them with. They know at some point they'll have a show you want to see and you'll be back.

Sponsors, on the other hand, are usually more sensitive to angry customers and they pay for the programs. They know that they can lose customers forever to their competition with similar products. If you find that list of sponsors, please post it! Al Fraken and those who sponsor him need to feel the love.

Then explain why all the other sketches from SNL are available on YOUTUBE, and the sketch ridiculing the NYT (the incorrectly labeled ‘incest sketch’) isn’t even available at the NBC/SNL website?

“Interesting that Al Franken has incest on his mind (he’s the puke that came up with the skit).”

Let’s at least get out facts straight. And you know I am telling the truth.

Al Franken dictated the concept for the FIRST SKETCH about McCAIN, which was really dry, and boring.

He had nothing to do with the NYT / Incest sketch later on in the show, which is the subject of this thread.

Just don’t want you shooting at bears with crooked arrows, my FRiend.

NBC still wont allow the brilliant “McCain Sings Streisand” clip on YouTube, despite the Palin-slam clip posted like 50 times. Gee, I wonder why.

I agree with you. With all the people that pass by here daily it would seem that we might be able to make a dent in NBC’s plans by getting a list those sponsors and letting them know how we feel. Personally, I think the sponsors for prime time are more important than SNL sponsors.

You people are being silly. SNL has stopped being funny and I didn't see the skit,

They stopped being funny at least 20 years ago!
