Fight The Smears [fightthesmears.com, my.barackobama.com] has changed their webpage on which it has the Obama COLB posted. Here's the new link:

They still label the image as "Obama's original birth certificate," but at the top, they've added a header with a close-up of the COLB's masthead, and the following text:
Smears claiming Barack Obama doesn’t have a birth certificate aren’t actually about that piece of paper — they’re about manipulating people into thinking Barack is not an American citizen.
The truth is, Barack Obama was born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, a native citizen of the United States of America.
Next time someone talks about Barack’s birth certificate, make sure they see this page

As far as Free Republic goes, anyway, the only thing "it's about" is whether Obama is eligible to serve as president.
Nobody here disputes that he's an American citizen. Nobody here cares about manipulating anyone into believing he's not a US citizen.

This new material at “Fight the Smears” displays arrogance, hubris and bad faith, in my opinion. It is the Senator’s reaction to Phillip Berg’s Law Suit (next item), and, basically, it amounts to an open admission of mens rea. He is flaunting his bad faith and in so doing destroys his own case.
Obama’s website also contains the bogus Certificate of Live Birth, that has been labeled, “Barack Obama’s Official Birth Certificate.”

If he can’t produce a Birth Certificate then he isn’t a natural born citizen.
His sister Maya was born in Djakarta, Indonesian. She has a Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) but that doesn’t mean she is eligible to be President.
SO - THIS IS REAL SIMPLE. PRODUCE THE DAMN BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

But, what was the practice and terms used in Hawaii at that time is important. If none of the other birth certificates of black persons show their parents' race as "African" or their country of origin other than the actual race of the ancestory, and only Obama's certificate has this word on it, that would help the claim that his certificate is a fraud. Why would Obama's father's race be defined differently from all others of similar ethnic heritage who parented a black child in Hawaii at that time.
Of course, the thing that makes this most suspicious is that referring to a black person in those days we did not use the term "black" or "African," In the early 60's Americans were still using the term "Negro," or "Negroid." Calling a person an African-American was a movement started later when it became politically incorrect to say "Negro" the term "black" was substituted and remained that way until years later when "African-American" became the term used.

Not so. If you are born a citizen of the U.S. and one or more other coutries, or if you assume the citizenship of another country without renouncing U.S. citizenship, our government allows you dual citizenship for your entire life.
Even if Obama wasn’t born on U.S. soil (and that’s a big “if”), wasn’t his mother a U.S. citizen? That would also make Barrack a natural-born citizen.
Um I hate to be a spoilsport here, but its my understanding that the ONLY person who will EVER have access to an Original Birth Certificate, a CERTIFIED BO, is the person himself. If you doubt this, just talk to a number of adoptees who have been FORBIDDEN access to their own OBC because a lot of states use the right to privacy stipulation of Roe v Wade to prevent unauthorized access. If adoptees have to jump through hoops and go through agony just to get their own BO, why are we paying attention to a document that could very well be forged, but not for the reasons you think. I have trouble believing this particular meme about Obamanation, not because I think he’s an American citizen but because the origins of this particular ‘proof’ itself is suspect. I think people need to drop this and find a more valid way of getting the truth about Obama out. There is more validity in claiming he is a full-fledged Muslim than there is in saying this ‘certificate’ is the real deal....

“...And it comes down to this… Obama and Ayers together controlled $160 mil in cash. Unfortunately the only ultimate beneficiaries from all this cash ended up being their political friends.
Why do they continue to post that COLB wit hthe cert number blacked out ( which has been shown to be fake ). Didn’t his campaign release the COLB to Factcheck with the cert number showing ? Of course on the Factcheck site they only took pics of it with a digital camera. They claim it is the same one that they are still posting ( the one with the cert number blacked out ). Why not have a digital scan of the COLB with the number not blacked out. Is it because it would show the two are not the same and that the latest one would show more details of how it was altered ? All this still begs the question, why not post a scan of a vault certified birth certificate in the first place ? Is it because it doesn’t exist ?
