Reading FR over the past 48 hours or so has been downright depressing. Yesterday I found myself snapping at my children for no other reason than my negative state of mind. The election is still a month away. I don't believe that all is lost. Polls are being manipulated and so are we!
So, what GOOD news have you heard lately? What is going on in your part of the country that gives you hope that McCain will win? What positive anecdotes can you share with all of us? Post it here. We could all use the encouragement.

I have the two greatest kids and greatest wife.
That's so sweet!
I think I'm lucky to have the greatest husband and lover in the world, too!
(And here's hoping they never meet!)

Do we stand a chance in Michigan or will vote fraud carry the day?

My wife is allowing me to buy Heineken in stead of Coors light for the debate tonight.
Also, she just bought her first Palin shirt, and she looks freaking awesome in it. (maybe she would let me post pictures of her in it on here)

Here's a post of mine from after the convention. However, it sounds like there is quite a bit of interest with the debate tonight, as well! One made a comment to her that she is "tired of the picking on Sarah". I find this encouraging as I expect several new Repub votes from an otherwise unlikely source.
My wife was telling one of her employees (who has some interest in the election) yesterday afternoon about how excited I was to see Palin's speech and that she'd likely watch with me.
Apparently, about a dozen of her employees actually tuned in to see Palin's speech and several of them were watching parts of it on youtube this morning at work. There was considerable discussion about it- they loved this woman. They related to her and appreciated how she spoke to them- not "fancy". They ate up her family and appreciated her vowing to be an advocate for special needs children. A couple of her employees have special needs (FAS, autism, cerebal palsy) children.
My wife was very surprised that they were interested and engaged! The last time there was a big common conversation was over the "I Kissed a Girl" song! Whether or not her employees will actually vote is another matter but they were certainly excited by Palin.

She’s lookin’ good. Hair is down. Wonder if she will have it down for the debate or up. We women think about those kind of things. She really is a very pretty woman (and First Dude is a good looking man). She came down the stairs with baby in her arms. Then little Bristol took over baby carrying duties. They then got in a gas guzzling SUV and took off, with Sarah waiving to the people from inside. Nice scene all the way around.

Credit flows have not stopped, folks. The media and the Dem party have the most to gain from scaring us, and that’s what they’re attempting to do. “

Doom and gloom here — right now it is on the Politico threads that McCain is pulling out of MI and sending staff elsewhere. The last month campaigns always readjust their schedules to go where they can get the most bang for the buck.

I love how you are so proud of your wife, but maybe think about holding off on posting her picture. There are some very creepy people lurking about on FR these days. It started out a few months ago and has only taken a turn for the worse lately. I used to have my picture on my fr homepage and took it down because of some strangeness.

I passed at least 5 gas stations with gasoline and no lines.
(On Sunday, I passed 20 that were empty and only 1 had some)
