In remarks he's giving in Ohio right now, Barack Obama seeks to make a campaign issue out of the unhinged tone that's been gripping McCain-Palin rallies of late, directly blaming the McCain-Palin ticket for stoking all the rage and linking it to his slowly crescendoing attack on McCain as unfit to lead the country.
From the prepared remarks:
It's easy to rile up a crowd by stoking anger and division. But that's not what we need right now in the United States. The times are too serious. The challenges are too great.
The American people aren't looking for someone who can divide this country -- they're looking for someone who will lead it. We're in a serious crisis -- now, more than ever, it is time to put country ahead of politics. Now, more than ever, it is time to bring change to Washington so that it works for the people of this country that we love. I know my opponent is worried about his campaign. But that's not what I'm concerned about. I'm thinking about the Americans losing their jobs, and their homes, and their life savings. We can't afford four more years of the economic theory that says we should give more and more to those with the most and hope that prosperity trickles down to everyone else.
Thus adding another dimension to the Obama campaign's overall message: McCain wants to attack and destroy in order to avoid talking about the economy, while Obama wants to get on with solving the crisis. Full prepared remarks after the jump.

If Obama has the magic bean, hand it over.
Of course, he doesn’t. He has nary a clue as to how to deal with this. He will, of course, raise your taxes and then blame the inevitable crappy economy that leads to on Bush. And, of course, the government will be ordered to continue to buy mortgages written for people with bad or nonexistent credit.
It’s amazing how many people can’t figure this out.
The media is stoking the race wars. The hatred for this country is deeper than I would have ever imagined. There are horrible characters just foaming at the mouth to get in and agitate the situation. I don’t if the answer lies in letting it take a natural course (apparently towards violence) or in trying to restore the calm. It’s a bit unnerving.
The problem is that McCAIN has jumped till now in the blame BUSH band wagon...Instead of attacking directly Obama, the democrap Congress,Carter...
He shot in his own foot as he was linked by Obama to the BUSH administration, and fell in the dem’s trap!
It’s about time to attack DIRECTLY the dems. It’s not time for bipartisanship during an electoral race!
[We can’t afford four more years of the economic theory that says we should give more and more to those with the most and hope that prosperity trickles down to everyone else. ]
He’s pretty much openly promoting socialism now. WAKE UP AMERICA!
From the guy who applauded Reverend Wright for 20 years. Rich!
(black smokes pot) fixed it
What a perfect triangulation!
Any criticism of him is deemed racist. Any animation in our own campaign rallies is “unhinged anger”. We’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t.
An old aviators saw goes that “if you’re taking chaff you must be over your target”. Well John, it’s time to drop the bombs!
If I’m to be damned for my actions (no matter what I do) then I may as well go for the throat. I hope McCain does as well.
There is much at stake.
Of course his 20 year pastor Rev. Wright never stoked anger and division, at least not within Obama’s earshot.
My paraphrase of BO’s speech...
Obama: “That old fart McCain is attacking me and not paying attention to the real issues. I can’t believe that such an incredible loser would dare attack me in such times as these. He gets all those stupid red necks worked up and that’s not right. I will not lower myself to that idiot’s level. You will not find me participating in that sort of politics, America is tired of the attacks. So in closing, let me be perfectly clear, we need to go to the streets and riot if I lose this election. If I lose this election its because that stupid head said mean things about me. Uh..uh.., and uh... we cannot stand for this any longer. We are ready for a positive message: As my good friend and mentor said: God Damn the United States of the KKK.”
That is exactly what we need to hit the MSM with after they pick up this story.
Obama accuses others of doing what he is doing.
The media is MAKING the news, not REPORTING it. I would NOT be surprised if these were Obama “plants” to help them play the racism card. And of course the MSM is putting that card in play.
That's right, Obama.
NOW GET THE HELL OFF THE STAGE, YOU COMMUNIST POS!!!!!
I am certain these are plants. It’s all part of the propaganda as the big machine rolls on.
I am waiting to see....
Thank you
Newt Gingrich on NPR:
MR. GINGRICH: Well, the last time we were promised they were going to save us, it was $300 billion; it was a housing bill. And what liberal Democrats in Congress did, for example, was add $500 million a year for a left-wing activist group called Acorn. Now, I cant imagine why wed want the taxpayer to give $500 million a year to a left-wing activist group, but its in the bill which the Bush administration signed and that was only back in July and that was going to solve everything. That was $300 billion ago.
Yeah, no kidding since Obama and Biden keep telling us that the Republicans are evil and we are all going to die of starvation if we don’t elect them. Please, hypocrisy at its maximum!
Obama's Pastor: "God Damn America", U.S. to Blame for 9/11
Right on. This non-scandal was started up by reporters who forgot to turn on recording devices. I’d be embarassed to be such a reporter.
Ha! Good one
Do you recall the history of WWII? The Nazis used Spain to test out their blitzgrieg tactics. Perhaps Obama was examining thug tactics in Kenya and taking notes?
Important key word, Odinga [the thug of Kenya who coordinates with Obama]
