I wasn’t supporting that part of the arguement...just the fact that this really isn’t a free election, since fraud is rampant and our “leaders” are pretty much SILENT on the whole issue. Where are our leaders?!

Almost everyone supporting Guiliani was kicked off with insults.
Many were saying no more than that the nomination would come down to Rudy or McCain. Nothing disrespectful or violating the rules of the site for the most part. Even those who had been here for years and who had contributed to its continuation were purged.
People don’t know much about American election history. Rampant fraud (almost all ways linked to the Democrats) has been a constant in our history. Some states even allowed illegals to vote in the early 1800s. Tammany Hall signed up voters fresh off the boat and directed them to soup kitchens and other places to aid immigrants and tie them to the Democrat machines.
We had a full scale political war about immigration in the 1840-50s which was a major factor in the destruction of the Whig party. Democrats encouraged immigration and the accompanying vote fraud for the entire history of the party.
In the bigger cities it has always been rampant because the survival of the Democrat party depended upon it. Without such fraud it would have been destroyed long ago. Republicans generally have a life and don’t care about politics and the vote stealing until the corruption gets out of hand and demands reform. With an aroused public behind them a few efforts will be made and a few of the most egregious crooks identified/punished and it blows over. People go back to sleep. Democrats refine and streamline their methods and it is business as usual a couple of years later.
The movie “Gangs of New York” showed exactly how the voter scams work. This would be very depressing if it weren’t for the fact than the nation is still the best ever created. If we survived what I have described there is great room for optimism.
Let me correct your statement “...over the past two CENTURIES.” This method of vote fraud started with Aaron Burr in NYC over 200 yrs ago. It has NEVER stopped.

This is not true in California. Only groups of 51 or more can “negotiate” a rate. Small groups of 2-50 cannot. Their rates are fixed, yet depend on their RAF (Risk Adjustment Factor - from .90 to 1.10 being the highest) - meaning how healthy the group is as a whole. The trade off is small group coverage is guaranteed issue - you cannot be declined, where a large group can be, although rarely are because the money they get for more people will balance out the RAF - and they can also “negotiate” a higher rate for a group if someone in the group has something that requires a lot of care such as MS or cancer.
The problem I have with McCain’s $5k tax credit is very few plans here in CA are that cheap annually, and if they are, they’re horrid plans that offer virtually no coverage and are for 20-somethings who never leave the house.
Individual plans here are even worse. You can be declined for even the smallest reason, but because it’s CA, you can apply for HIPPA coverage which is guaranteed issue - but the premiums are astronomical. (None of our HIPPA clients are under $1k a month - and the youngest is in their 20s.)

Completely agree with you. The same ads are running here in Northern Wisconsin - a LOT of them... I assume that the McCain campaign thinks that Wisconsin is a “lost cause”, but if he would realize how many up here in Northern Wisconsin would be OUTRAGED (dem and rep alike) if the truth were known about the REAL Obama they might see fit to do SOMETHING to counter these healthcare fear-mongering ads by Obama.
Is that an honest question? Chicago is the birthplace of the “Dead vote, and Democrats vote twice” cliches. A better question might be; “Were there ANY VALID voter registrations that came through while Obama was in charge”?
Do you mean they actually had their posting privileges revoked, or they left of their own accord because they were treated poorly?
