Fox News Debate Analysis Sucks! (Vanity)
10/16/08 | bcatwilly

Frankly I am really disgusted with the horrible analysis by the Fox News "round table" of pundits.

1. They set McCain up before he ever debates by assuming that he is down by some large amount, which isn't true in all of the polls. So therefore he needs a "knockout", which who the heck knows what that is.

2. If these idiots were actually truly following this race and providing good analysis they should have said that while McCain did not score a "knockout" he should have both pleased his base and possibly opened some new attack fronts with the 'Joe the Plumber' discussion and abortion.

I am pretty much at the us against the world stage now to do whatever it takes to keep Obama from taking the reins of power.

Why does Krauthammer hate Palin?

Four allegedly undecided voters raised their hands to indicate they were swayed to Obama by the debate. Stop the presses! This an example of pseudo-scince and manufactured news.

Love your “Senator Government” and agree this is “the” line of the debates!

I just posted this on another thread, but you’re all exactly on the money with regard to the Fox News panel. Brit Hume has integrity but these tired-old yammering pundits are pulling him down.

I know Fox reads FR so here’s the word: we’re not asking you to agree with us 100%, but it’s getting really hard to tell FNC from CNN. And since CNN isn’t moving to the center, guess what that says about FNC?

Kristol has become a big disappointment. And Dr. Krauthammer, as brilliant as he is, has certainly shown that objectivity is not one of his strengths.

Of course Obama bleating before the debate, that because of FOX news he is down 3-4 points in the polls...the FOX network is thoroughly intimidated.

I guess you could call this Obama's preemptive strike. It certainly had FOX news kowtow to the Obama campaign.

Would be pleasantly appreciative if FOX news would conjecture that without the MSM overwhelming support, Obama would be down 12-15 points in the polls.

Don’t worry about them. I’d be more worried if they were giving lipservice to McCain like they did in the last two debates when he well “sucked”. Here is why McCain won this debate. He won because he not only played offense but he setup the tone and message coming out of this debate. This debate was all about “Joe the Plumber” now you already see a few libs deriding that but they know that McCain won because that is really the only thing that is memorable. It was the phrase and more importantly it is a phrase that helps define Obama as the “redistributor of wealth”. If he loses it will be tied back to his off the cuff moment with a plumber.

Fox News has a buncha pundits -— many neocons and pseudocons -— who love political candidates that can effortlessly turn a rhetorical phrase without tripping over their tongue. Obama takes it one step further, if you can’t dazzlem with brilliance, bafflem with bull***t.

The chattering classes have an extra consideration to juggle - their own reputation. They can’t get too far ahead of eachother and the political consensus, otherwise if opinion doesn’t turn, their a lone voice. They we’re all looking for that “Reagan” moment, so that they could safely say McCain won. A chimp could recognize those moments. McCain did everything he was asked by the army of opinion givers and debate coaches out there. He won on points, Obama was on the defensive all night, and he had two very memorable soundbites. I thought McCain handily won, which is an opinion I did not have of the first two debates.

I’m glad they have an opinion and I don’t have to agree, but they make no attempt at being impartial. They don’t bring up facts or quotes in favor of McCain. They’re lazy.

I don’t know a recourse. They have become like state sponsered media yet they are private.

I know Chomsky is not welcome here, but he made a film years ago called ‘Manufacturing consent’. It describes exactly what is going on with today’s msm.....and not favorable to the left by any means...in fact openly hostile to them.

Manufacturing consent is the goal of these outlets.

I am so mad at Foxnews right now..

They've maxed out their conservative viewership and their only avenue for growth is into the left. They'll throw us a little bit here and there in an attempt to hold us while they aggressively court the left-leaning viewers. Greed trumps honor in that industry.

In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration, and began contributing to The New Republic magazine. During the presidential campaign of 1980, Krauthammer served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale.

Read it and weep. Source.

I’ve been critical when it is warranted , and I think McCain took it to B.O. tonight .

Fox , for some bizarre reason , had a vested interest in Harold Ford and now they have a vested interest in B.O.

Hannity pounded the Wright issue into the ground during the primaries so it could not be used in the general ... Why ?

Hannity made excuses for Ford’s daddy during Junior’s run for the Senate in ‘06 ...Why ?

Get over it. I’m as true conservative as anyone on this site. The guy that can’t present his birth certificate won ALL 3 debates from a fossil that was allowed to be the nominee. The big loser is so-called conservatives that sit on their arses & allow this scum media ( FOX is included) & left wing organizations to dominate. Do you ever see TRUE conservatives going door to door intimiating voters as ACORN. Hell, I couldn’t get anyone in a most conservative arena to vote for Jim Gilcrest - a Minuteman - verses John Campbell - who VOTED FOR THE BAILOUT. Nice going so-called pubbies. Obama deserves this election as terrible bad that he is because his people made it happen for him. My so-called conservatives just sit by their pools & bitched.
