[history]
WASHINGTON (AP) - An Associated Press-GfK poll shows the presidential race tightened after the final debate, with John McCain gaining among whites and people earning less than $50,000. Two weeks before the election, McCain and Barack Obama are essentially running even among likely voters.

The Fox poll has a +6 sample of Dems (vs it being even in 2004 and a historical high of +4 Dems tops)

Joe Biden and his latest remarks may prove to be the tipping point.
Joe scared my wife pretty good. Though she's always been against Obama. I think more wives and moms need to hear what Joe had to say. In Joe's own words. With Joe's own voice. In its entirety.

"Has anyone been called by a live pollster -- and answered the phone? If so, was the accent of the pollster "middle American" or identifiable as an ethnic or racial accent? Might be a little expensive, but it would be VERY informative to set up a poll that would have as its primary goal to study responses to differing pollers. It would be great if some foundation or something would finance a research project like that:
Test for racial bias
Test for pollers' own political bias affecting things
Test for political one-sidedness in the news (Like right now, when 90% of news outlets are sending the message that voting GOP is sooo very lame).

It looks like the Florida Rep party is finally doing a push with teeth. I just got a card that said if “obama played on a sports team he would be called a rookie so for and so on ending with if obama was your Dr. you would call another Dr.”
So let the polls roll on and lets GOTV.

The closer to election day, the more people tend to sober up. Let's hope the college kids stay drunk on election day though. :-)

Apropos of nothing at all, I turned the tables on a live campaign call I just received.
The lady was calling on behalf of our conservative congressman.
When I asked her she said she really knows her way around a computer. That's all the opening I needed, LOL.
By the time the call was over, she had all pertinent information about Free Republic. com and she was happily enthusiastic because FR sounded like "something she had been looking for".
I told her I might see her online.....and to get back to making her calls for our congresscritter.

Thank you Joe the Plumber AND Joe the Bumbler (Biden). Good to have both of you helping us out. I praise obama for his good judgment in picking BOTH of you out of a crowd. It’s uncanny how he does that!

"Doubled his advantage among whites who haven't finished college and now leads by 20 points. McCain and Obama are running about even among white college graduates, no change from earlier." So....those with graduate degrees are supporting Obama by 700%? This doesn't add up.
