So, when and where did BO sign up for military service?
Why would he want a military comprised of zillions of young people who don’t want to be there?
Funny thing is, I think all Americans should serve for a year like the Israelis do...maybe between high school graduation and college.
because that would breathe new life into the anti-war movement...hippies cannot really protest an all volunteer army now, can they???
The precedent has already been established. If you don’t want to go you don’t have to. Go to Canada wait until it’s over, petition to return and they will let you.
Perhaps reinstating the draft was what Biden was referring to the other day when he said that the Obama admin. would do something the electorate would find very unpopular after the “international crisis.”

I can’t imagine this is common knowledge, parents would go nuts! But, I also heard him talk when he seemed to be very clearly saying he was going to bring back the draft. Couldn’t say when or where that speech was though.
I would prefer a return to state militia units and a substantial diminishment of the U.S. military.
We should also go back to the days when those who refused to stand up and support the nation were burned out of their homes and sent into exile -- like the Tories who supported the British during the American Revolution.
Short of a military draft, he’s been a huge advocate of a social service draft. I’ve heard him mention this several times in the last couple years.

We no longer live in a world where that is possible.
We face opponents with HUGE national Armies, and the ability to destroy every single American in just under 45 minutes.
And as far as Militia armies go against prepared opponents, ask the Danes how that worked out for them against the German Invasion. The Germans were in Copenhagen before mobilization had even finished,.
I wonder how Colin Powell feels about this. In his book, he speaks about how the all-volunteer services was the greatest thing about the military and how it made enforcing standards much easier. I’d like to see someone ask Mr. Powell what his take on bringing back the draft would do to the current U.S Military. Maybe Barack should have consulted with Mr. Powell before speaking about this...but then again, the Messiah doesn’t need to consult anyone about anything.
