Jim Robinson Has Given Us Permission to start a Digg page

Posted on 10/28/2008 1:18:41 PM PDT by GodGunsGuts

For the Mods re: Digg campaign:

Via Freepmail: "Go for it! Thanks, Jim"

This page will be kept at the top of "Breaking News"

What we want to do is either post new Digg articles/videos, or identify already existing Digg articles/videos, that tell the REAL STORY of Barack "the socialist revolutionary" Obama. Let's come up with a TOP 5 articles and a TOP 5 videos list and use FReeper power to Digg them to the top so that non-FReepers too become aware of the most dangerous presidential candidate in our nation's history!

Please place all Digg suggestions in the threads. DO NOT PROVIDE LINKS TO NON DIGG ARTICLES AND VIDEOS. IF YOU WANT YOUR ARICLE OR VIDEO TO BE CONSIDERED, PUT IT ON DIGG FIRST AND THEN PROVIDE THE LINK.

Once the top five of each has been identified, let's all sign up over at Digg and DIGG THESE LINKS TO THE TOP!!! Then FReepmail, email, and round up people from every conservative forum you can think of and encourage them to do the same!

Please place your Digg suggestions below. Once we have settled on the initial five articles and five videos, a new post with the links will appear at the top of "Breaking News" and will be kept there!!! Remember, taken together, these links need to tell a story.

So let's get off our rear-ends, bypass the MSM, and get the vote out people!!!

I’m a 52 year old woman who doesn’t know what the heck digg is.

But thanks for the ping anyway.

Waiting until a week before the election to attack isn’t going to accomplish anything.

“I dugg it. Now what happens? lol.”

LOL - well, hopefully enough people will dig it so that it makes it to the top of the pile. I think most people voting for Obama are just making what amounts to a “mad dash for the cash” (Obama’s welfare program). Maybe if they learn the truth they’ll vote for McCain.

Hey, every little bit counts. ;-)

Conceivably.

Conceivably not.

In critical states with narrow margins, every litter bit helps.

Ah...slashdot is a geek site....

Digg is fun in that you can submit stories just like here...but they can be voted up or down like You Tube videos...

It’s a battleground site between conservatives and Leftards...

Not really any more “work” than here...

Slashdot has been around a long time....digg sorta mimicked slashdot and expanded upon it...

If there were an Internet Hall of Fame for websites they’d both be in there...shrug

this is about FR building its capacity to do so as the internet landscape has changed significantly in the last 4 yrs.

You've been a freeper for less than 3 weeks. I don't need to hear your 2 cents.

Digg has been a war zone between those on the Right and those on the Left....we on the Right are, or have been, outnumbered...which is to say it’s a fair fight!...LOL

Here we are all pretty much on the same page...there you test your mettle...;)

To arms!

IMHO, digging articles is pretty much the equivalent of FReeping polls.

It doesn't take anything away from Free Republic.

I think it helps the conservative cause in general, gives FR more visibility on the web, and could help increase membership here.

Respectfully, I wouldn't be afraid of digg.

“What’s slashdot?”

Geekish website...although because Digg expanded upon their original format for presentation of articles...they have tried expanding...

One of the first “community” sites...

I am not at all afraid of digg.
I am annoyed about the claim that Jim told them they could keep their posts at the top of breaking news.

rss....nowadays stands for really simple syndication...

Basically it’s an internet “standard” for sharing articles...when you subscribe to a “feed”, a RSS or Atom (2 different versions), with a “feed reader”...when that website posts an article, you receive the article immediately (or a blurb from it)...

Google has a free feed reader...and Yahoo...with which you can subscribe to feeds...

The effect is that the news is brought to you...rather than you going around the Net to get it....

That’s RSS feeds at it’s most basic...more advanced, you can display someone elses feed on your own website..(referred to as syndication) Very cool...

Twitter was cool in the beginning but has fallen into spam hell recently...see if they can get a handle on that in the future...:)

When the presidential choices are a socialist or a communist, I think we are sinking too fast to be saved. During the primaries, conservatives didn’t stand a chance. So as far as I’m concerned, I can’t see getting excited to elect a counterfeit president.

Sure Sarah would be nice but as VP she’ll have as much chance as a snowballs chance in hell of making any differences.

If I was a Secret Service agent when Obama walks in, I’d look him in the eye, saying “My life to save a Communist, NEVER!” toss my badge and sidearm on the chair and walk out. Let the Russians protect that bastard.
