“Damn I wish you were here so we could go for a little walk. By the way your posts are pedestrian.”

You really need to take a chill pill. There is no sense in going after fellow Freepers with that kind of hostility. We are all on edge but that kind of threat is worthy of getting your account suspended.

One thing to remember in all of this is that we have word from political insiders that polls this year are getting response rates in the 15% to 20% range.

Social science journals generally will not publish studies based on surveys with a response rate of less than 30% (some insist on 33%, others are slack and will take well-designed studies with a 27% response rate). Why? The problem of non-response bias: there may be systematic characteristics which cause survey targets to be unavailable or to refuse to participate. Even a 30% response rate is subject to this phenomenon.

Between folks who don’t want to be thought ‘racist’ for opposing Obama, PUMAs who are either lying and saying they support Obama, but will vote for McCain (I suspect a small effect), and the fact that the idle poor are more likely to waste the 20 min. a phone survey takes, even polls that don’t deliberately oversample D’s this year have a built in bias for Obama in their numbers.

Don’t give up! Work on getting out the vote!

All savvy stock market players know that FEAR is a much more powerful motivator than GREED. So what does that have to do with the price of tea in China or this election???

Middle America is EXTREMELY FEARFUL OF THE RADICAL MARXIST, whereas Barry's KoolAid drinkers are just greedy.

Middle America will turnout in numbers that will crush the Marxist's hordes.

Thanks Illinois Rep.....I’m a refugee from Illinois now living the Rocky Mountain Dream out here in Colorado. It’s nice to be in a state where it MATTERS!

Every single person I know who is voting for McCain is voting Nov 4th here in Florida. Many early voting lines were a 3 hr. wait and no parking every day. We have not even begun to see the votes McCain will get.

No, poor does not equal a vote for 0bama. But probablistically if one randomly chose a person with an income below $22,000, the likelihood of hitting an 0bama voter is higher than if one picked a random person with an income between $22,000 and $20,000,000. (I cut the top off because of all the super-rich twits who want 0bama to make the rest of us into serfs.)

"``Obama has helped energize the Rep base. Reps will be voting in greater numbers than 2004.``

Obama's extremism + Palin = Doubly Energized GOP base.

Since everyone is heated right before the election, you’re getting a break for making threats of violence. But knock it off now and leave this thread.

Ok you two, grow up. No need for childish jabs at each other. As a newbie myself I’ve taken lots of hits from those who question anyone they don’t know. Cowboy up and take it. If you believe in the cause you can overlook it.

They do not expect to remain poor and they have values and love America.

And typically, barring addiction, mental illness or sheer laziness--they do not. This is not a point I ever hear the R party make and we should. Instead of hard luck stories, we should parade out people who came from nothing and have done very well, realized the American dream...I am the perfect example of it.

McCain 52%
Obama 47%

BTTT for that! We still MUST GOTV! This is one of many topics to share with as many as we can reach...

Obama, on audio, reading from his book saying "white man's greed" quoting Rev. Wright.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7fi8STNlxM
"Some of the common factors that effect Bosnia or Los Angeles or all kinds of places on this earth and that is the tendancy for one group to try to suppress another group in the interest of power or greed or resources."
"Whether you are a white executive living out in the suburb who doesnt want to pay taxes to inner city children for them to go to school..."
[also in full interview at 9:22 and 12:20]

New 1995 Obama video on Wright
"Wright who is my paster and he is a wonderful man".
"My own faith which is not necessarily a traditional faith".
"Rev. Wright, my pastor who I speak about in a chapter the book, represents the best of what the Black church has to offer"
