First off I stood in line for 1hr and 15min before I got into the building to vote, when I got in the building and got to the desk, I had to fill out an absentee ballot, I had my drivers license out waiting for the woman to check it and you know what? She never even asked me for it! Then they made me go stand in a huge crowd of people for another 45 minutes, Im assuming while they checked my registration and then they just came to the desk and yelled out your name, mind you I seen people that I knew were not ahead of me getting called before me and my moms boyfriend who went to vote with me, was in line behind me got called 15 people after me! It was very disorganized and chaotic, I could have definetly got in line and voted again. Im gonna report this to Mccains website. I do live in Ohio and I can see now why theres so much fraud, in part b/c of Acorn and b/c the poll workers arent doing their jobs correctly. I thought about calling and asking if they check i'd's before you vote but it prob will fall on deaf ears! Anyhow I voted for Mccain Saturday and I felt dame proud! PUMA!

I wasn’t asked for ID....But I had to sign in with my “legal signature” on their “registered voters log”...as voting.

I never got asked for ID in NY either. However, in our small town everyone knows everyone else and the discussion inevitably gets around to this subject and everyone there thinks that showing ID should be mandatory.

I also voted in Ohio on Saturday. You fill out a form that includes some written identification like your license number or the last 4 digits of your SSN. Then they take this form to the ‘back room’ where a contingent of poll workers check your information. After they make sure you are a real person they add your form to their own ‘passed’ pile which is picked up by someone eventually who then calls the names and hands out the ballots. So, there is a identity check (of sorts) and now you know the reason for the nonlinear ballot handout.
Here in Ohio if you vote at your own precint you need to show identification and sign next to your name on a sheet the poll workers have. I believe this sheet also has your last signature so there is an additional check that you are still the same person as last time.

“”I had to fill out an absentee ballot””

Why did you have to fill out an absentee ballot if you went there to vote?

GA requires ID for voting.

Should be Federal Law. I am in PA and was asked for it this morning.

If this is true, then the local elections officials are in violation of the law. You have to show photo I.D. WITH an address that matches the voter registration, and then you have to sign the voter registration next to your signature that you provided before you are give an access card or paper ballot. At least that’s how it’s done in my county. If you don’t have a photo I.D., two forms of I.D. are required showing your address. Of course these are probably being circumvented in the heavily democratic area like Cleveland. I’d also bet on plenty of fraud in Columbus. Early reports have lots of college students voting, which is fine if they are actually Ohio residents, but I doubt a lot of them are.

Indiana passed a law this year requiring photo ID.

I'm in Indiana...ID check X 2 this morning. 2 problems tho...drop box counter not working and one person electioneering outside poll doors. (Indiana for Change...dem group...SOS and County officials notified) Light to moderate turn out.

I don’t think any of the states require a photo ID, or any ID for that matter.

Speaking for the State I live in, Michigan, you ARE required to show photo ID, either Driver's License, State ID Card, or Passport.

PLEASE call your republican HQ in your town right away. Here in my little town in Missouri, they have an equal amount of Republicans and Democrats working the polls.

SOMEBODY on our side WILL care enough to correct that right away!!!

Why don’t all us FReepers have our ID’s in hand—even if we aren’t asked to display them—when we approach the polls? T’would be a sign that a few of us are out and about... I did that earlier this morning in the upstate People’s Republic of NY. It would not cost us any extra $$...and it just might give pause to those who might be gaming the system.

Sorry, folks, this is not news. 2 weeks ago, the Supreme Court sided with the Ohio Elections Supervisor when he/she claimed that there wasn’t enough time to research 200,000 suspicious voter registrations. That opened the door for fraud in this election.

If the Obamessiah wins, it will be because of fraud. If McCain wins, it will be because he managed to prevail over the fraud. This is going to be a Gore redux where Gore operatives were caught in FL with a voting machine and blank ballots. The later lawsuits by Gore against Bush and the state of FloriDUH were just attempts to stall the final tally on the FloriDUH votes so that they could try to stuff more ballots into the boxes. Watch for a repetition.

I have never been asked for an ID here in PA and I have been voting since 58
They have a book with your name in it and you sign in the empty space

BTW the turn out was HUGE at 8:00am —a good sign for McCain here in the Philly burbs

How can all of Obama’s ACORN fraudsters vote, if they have to produce IDs?
