Vanity: Obama Gloaters -- Post the dumbest things said to you today by Obama-bot family, friends, et

When you lose an election like we just did, it brings out the best those family, friends, and acquaintences of yours who don't share your political beliefs.

In 2004, I tried my best not to gloat at all because I understood that for many of our opponents, politics is their religion and to watch Kerry lose, it was like watching a family member die. I get no pleasure in being a jackass and trying to rub salt into people's wounds.

Liberals generally have no such reservations, so I'm sure we've all gotten an earful today.

So let's start a thread for posting some of the dumbest things people have said to us today at the advent of Obamanation. It might be the kind of thing we can look back on in 2010 or 2012 and say, "Oh yeah, I forgot what that little snot said."

That's pretty funny. I run a football pool for some friends and decided to post a few rule changes as a result of yesterday's election:

Because of the transformational nature of our new government - we will have to change the pool rules in order to reflect a more inclusive nature for everyone:

1) Points Awarded: From now on, those players who's score is in the top 20% of the total points earned for the weekend will have their points evenly distributed to those who are in the bottom 80 percent of the pool. Those 20% will, of course, be able to keep their fair share of the points they earned but, their fair share will be defined as being within a portion of the 80% who did nothing to garner any of those points. This policy is effective immediately in order to foster a "bottom up approach" in determining a fair outcome at the end of the season.

2) Pool Winnings: Today's rule states that the pool monies will be distributed as follows: 60% for first place, 25% for second place and 15% for third place. The new rule will allocate the pool monies in the following manner: 10% for first place, 5% for second place and 2.5% for third place. The remaining 82.5% of the monies will be distributed to the bottom 40% of those in the pool with less points. These people also include (name) and (name), people who have already quit making picks but yet remain in the standings.

For those of you who do not come in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place and fall above the bottom 40% - you will get nothing as your hard work is noted but, you should feel better knowing that the monies you contributed to the pool are being redistributed to those not as fortunate as yourself.

Dont ya just love this new policy? Get used to it!

The Commish

My Obama-supporting relatives are noteworthy for not calling me yet. I think even they have too much class to vote.

Folks in the local Shop Rite seemed happy, judging from the conversations around me...as I bite my tongue.

A newly-minted American Citizen co-worker sent me this e-mail:

"At last the people have spoken. We Americans have a term for it, it is called “An ass whipping”

President Full results » 4:29 p.m. EST, Nov 5 '08

Obama Electoral Votes 349

I responded:

Wrong – O.

THIS, my newly-minted fellow American friend, is what a REAL Ass-whipping looks like:

PHEW!!!!

I’m serious about going there. And the TX FReepers have been really quiet of recent light.

We bring lots of guns, one former Police Woman, one former Marine, one soon to be former Sheriff and one Homeschooling Jesus loving Mom who make a mean batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies. Three kids, three dogs and an RV. We’ll be at your service.

And we’ll share those cookies!

Although conservatives commonly associate veganism with leftist politics, my wife is a staunch conservative vegetarian. She extends her pro-life beliefs to include animals, which she believes to be self-conscious, if not sentient. At the very least, she is opposed to inhumane treatment of animals, so the meat I eat is grassfed beef, free range chicken, or wild caught fish. Fine with me- I like the flavor.

When I first met my wife, she was a bit confused politically: a grab-bag of conservative ideas gleaned from her parents and fashionable left postures picked up in college. Over time, she has become solidly conservative, more traditionalist in some ways than me.

It's been great to see her political awareness blossom, and I can't help but think that there are many latent conservatives out there who adopt a left-wing identity because they take what they consider to be the moral high-road of veganism/vegetarianism.

Many vegans I speak with are deeply culturally conservative. I talked with a young anarchist woman passing out pamphlets on the street a few months ago and noted how similar her perspective was to Christopher Lasch. She said she loved Lasch, even though he wasn't "politically correct". Hmm, I thought, and recommended that she read E.F. Schumacher's Small is Beautiful and The Man Who Was Thursday by G.K. Chesterton. She was a bit perplexed and intrigued. I saw her later in a coffeeshop and she told me that she loved the books, and wanted more recommendations (ah, the drug after the gateway drug is what addicts you).

I am socially fearless and I never give up hope in bringing others to conservatism. But they must be surprised, their defenses breached with unusual and unanticipated tactics. Obama never tells his audiences, "I'm about to do a hypnotic induction on you"; he just does it.

I was just told by a college student that we owe it to our nation to unify under Obama. After what your cult has done for the past eight years? Dream on!!

I ran into a very liberal friend of mine today (yes I have 1 or 2 of those), and she told me that she was getting ready to do something she had never done before. I asked what that would be, and she said she was going to our local hardware store and buy an American flag. Misunderstanding her motivation and thinking she had seen the light I said-—where were you when we needed you-—to which she said that she wanted to put up a flag in her front yard for a COUPLE OF DAYS! I couldn’t believe it! She said she had never owned a flag before, but she truly believed that “we” all came together as Americans to elect Obama last night and she was feeling very patriotic.

I don’t have a dumbest thing, just a disheartening thing that was said. I teach 4th grade and we had a mock election yesterday.... McCain won for our school, however I had about 3-4 who voted Obama. One little boy was a surprise, because his brother is in the military. He is new to the military and is getting ready to be shipped soon. The reason his family voted Obama? They didn’t want to see their son go to Iraq... for the 4th grader it was disheartening, because he doesn’t know any better, he believes what he hears Obama to say. But for the parents, who really did vote for Obama, it is just dumb. They have put their son in more danger with their vote....

I argued with that first girl that when the business taxes go up, what are the 1st two things that normally happen?

She looked at me like I was dumb.

I told her that the prices of services will go up, people will cancel their services, we have no money to pay our staff, the owner starts cutting the workforce. Unemployment skyrockets.

She said that the taxe hikes will only effect the rich. I asked her if she got her job from a poor man or a rich man. She then started resembling a clam. She had the case of "Hushmouth".

Then he said, Obama is “really, really smart and has good ideas.”

That's what my seven-year-old said. "Obama is smart. And he never lies, and tells the truth."

I explained the Halloween candy redistribution thing to him and he changed his mind quick. Perhaps that would have worked on the guy at your work.

The guy I fired today said something funny to me. He said he wanted the day off because he celebrated a little too much last night. I told him he could celebrate his a$$ to the unemployment line. He thought I was kidding until I had his final paycheck cut and handed to him.

I got yelled at by my boss today because a co-worker asked me how I felt about the election. Apparently, by answering that question honestly I was not watching for my co-workers feelings and she got upset by my answer and complained that I was being racist. I never brought race up at all, and yet I was the one being yelled at in the office today.

My co-worker says:

“My feeling is that for too long I was not heard. Now, I finally feel like we have someone in office who will listen not only to me a supporter, but to any of those Americans who disagree with him. I am really excited what the future will bring!! I think he will weigh the options and the costs that his ... Read Moredecisions will create. I believe that is why he won. I am so glad that we live in a country that we are able to have this venue to debate current issues.”

O, and she is also SO sick of paying high insurance premiums and a co-pay when she goes to the doctor so she is relieved that will be over!!

*pukes in mouth* Good luck with that sweetie!

My son came in from the school bus and said that everyone on the bus was bashing 0. One kid yelled out “0bamas going to be standing on top of the White House dressed in Muslim
garb with an AK47 shooting and screaming lalalalalalala.” lol
