Hi Bill,
In your recent Townhall piece you posit that there are Republicans who feel that
Governor Palin is too unqualified to lead, so it's better for them if they maginalize
her now so they won't have to deal with her again in 2012.
You couldn't be more wrong.
Her assailants, from the Right and the Left (and the media..., ahem) have seen
what she has done in Alaska as Governor. Huge Oil Company lobbies shut down.
Oil revenues going into the hands of the voters. Powerful, entrenched "old boy network"
mavens gone, castrated, or in jail... Democrats and Republicans.
Palin's attackers have no misgivings about her ability to lead. They see what she's done
in just two years in the Great White North, and they are justifiably terrified. They watch her
draw 30,000 screaming rally-goers in the same city where Biden drew 400, and their
bowels loosen.
For one as astute as you to imply that their concern, for good or ill, is over her
qualifications or ability to lead... ...really only speaks to your own candor and integrity. You can fool
some of us some of the time, but you don't fool me with your subtle innuendo. And as for
Palin's public detractors; their redeeming speck is that they at least don't masquerade as a
spin-free impartial observer who is "looking out for me."

Good job! I can’t stand that blowhole phony. And, since the election, do not even watch Fox anymore. (OK, I watched when I heard Skeletor’s (Colmes) wife was going to be on, just to see what kind of weirdo would marry him) I get my news here at FR, and a few other conservative sites I trust.
I’ll let you know when he moves to New Hampshire. It’s a small state and we’ll know it.
In the meantime, it’s too bad some of you with all this energy and great ideas wouldn’t expend some of it on the Democrats. They’re laughing their asses off at people like you.

Oreilly was after Jackson for a long time on his show. wanted irs to go after his tax exempt status. Jackson got oreilly back tho. recall that scandal with a woman whom oreilly supposedly was having phone sex with? Jackson was behind that he got oreilly back but good. Now Oreilly has nothing to say but good about Jackson. Oh the irony.
He does swerve into the truth now and again though....but not enough for me to pay much attention.
As I said earlier, Billy knows exactly why they continue to hammer on her. She terrifies them because of her accomplishemnts, leadership ability, and off-the-charts drawing power. For him to pretend that 'nobody knows why they keep hammering at her' is a blatant attempt to denigrate her accomplishments and plant the seed of "that poor, helpless woman."
He is despicable for playing this role on behalf of the Dem and GOP Power Brokers whose only hope is to repeat that lie about Palin so often that it starts to become accepted as the truth.
That he concludes with his smarmy, maudlin, condescending: "This time, enough really is enough. " is the killer.
Here's the big, brave, all-knowing Bill O'Reilly coming to the heroic aid of the poor helpless broad in distress. I admit, it's subtle enough that it could sell with the pablum-eating sheep. His problem is that my mother didn't raise one of those.
When I see ANYONE in the media selling this patent horsesh!t about Palin, I'm calling them out on it. To quote John McCain, "You will know their names, I will make them famous."
For anyone to really believe Bill's position that "no one knows why they keep after her..." you have to agree from the outset that she has no remarkable accomplishments, and poses no threat to the Beltway Power-Merchants. If this were true, they wouldn't waste one more minute on her.
Think about it.

Actually, he says quite clearly that he believes she is being persecuted for her pro-life position.

There are hundreds os Pro Life politicians, none of whom are being assaulted, period. For him to claim that her Pro Life stance is the reason why they are after her is an obvious lie and an intentional distraction.
O'Reilly isn't that stupid. He's just covering his own butt, toeing the party lines to make sure he remains in favor with the Beltway Sphincters. It's how he continues to have access to the DemRep weasels for his show.
He's selling snake oil, and that's not really so different from what the rest of the media is doing. Why I take exception to it is because, unlike the rest of the steaming pantload media, he claims to be "Looking out for us."
He's a phony and a charlatan who is going after Palin (in his subtle, vile, deceptive way) because she snubbed his show.

Bill O'Reilly is a perverted womanizing blowhard who is lucky that he got a time slot with no real competition. He believes his inflated ratings make him something special. He is not unlike Bill Clinton, a perverted womanizing politician who took full credit for the dot-com economy ...until it burst.
