Ping to #7, #65

In Post #65, what is the source of this birth announcement? This one CLEARLY says OSAMA, the birth announcement in Post #7 states OBAMA.

So, was the birth announcement in Post #65 a photocopy of an ORIGINAL 1961 newspaper or from microfiche?

The last name has been changed to reflect OBAMA from OSAMA.

In #65, it also seems that the first six names are a darker font than the bottom names. Was this column manipulated on microfiche, or was an entire column retyped, cut and pasted onto the original column in the paper?

Someone manipulated the name, that is apparent.

I got it soon after I asked you. I really need to stop asking questions or making (dumm) comments prematurely.

As far as the "bastardy angle," is concerned you may have a point. We'll never know for sure, I suppose.

But it's also worth considering that the announcement may have used to establish baby Barack as a Hawaiian by stating the parents' Hawaii address. True, the announcement would not ordinarily be considered a "legal document," but it could have been used as a tool to (fraudulently) convince Hawaii authorities that Baby Barack was Hawaiian and American by birth, which in turn may have allowed him certain privileges that might not otherwise be available under state and federal law.

Remember that Barack was born into a counter-cultural (communist or communist-leaning) milieu. It's hard to say whether being born out of wedlock would have carried the same social stigma to his family as it would to most Americans at the time.

I apologize if you don’t have ulterior motives. It’s just that there have been so many trolls on these threads in the last week, both recent signups as well as older signup dates.

Also, how does this personal ad prove or disprove that under the laws in effect at the time that the fact that Obama’s father was a British subject and his mother was underage did not effect baby’s status as “natural born” even if he was born in Hawaii?

I’m not saying it does. Just askin’.

“Since the announcement was originally uncovered by the TexasDarlin website that is extremely skeptical about Obama’s birth certificate, this is one thing you don’t need to worry about..”

Non sequitor.

No, it's not. I was only responding to FreeAtlanta's suspicion that the ad was not even in a real newspaper but perhaps was constructed by PhotoShop, etc. Based on everything I have read on the TexasDarlin site, I do not believe that they would allow the wool to be pulled over their eyes about this point.

I realize that there are other possible problems with the ad.

I wouldn't make too much of the announcement in post #65, Iowan. Somebody was probably just horsing around......

But then the same can be said for post #7.

That clip has people born over a few days span and I’d assume anyone such as a grand parent could have the notice placed in the local paper. I see notices for births dating from July 30 thru Aug. 7.

Now look at the “b” in “Obama”

That "b" looks more like an "s" than a b. Osama?

I agree with you that it's plausible that his grandmother put the announcement in the paper with the grandmother's address. It might be possible to research who was at the address in the announcement at that time.

Yes, granny could have applied to register his foreign birth with the state of Hawaii. That opportunity was available in Hawaii at the time. (According to the posted article, that same procedure would be abvailable even today for babies under one year old.)

Tinfoil hat is correct. Are you aware that there are NO, ZERO, ZIP, NADA, hospital records for O’s mom EVER being admitted to the two hospitals on the island?

Anyone one can do a birth announcement in the paper. I live near DC and there are always birth announcements by proud grandparents.

I also noticed that...Osama. I enlarged both images and from what I can see, one is clearly an ‘s’ and the other is a ‘b’ ...

As if there’s not enough mystery already! I am hoping Polarik can find the time to take a closer look.

Thanks, Fred

It does look like someone went to considerable trouble to make that change!!!

I am thinking that the one with the Osama in the birth announcement would be from the original 1961 newspaper.

Well, the British citizen issue isn't all that clear, either. Definitely need a court to come in and figure this all out.

We need to have Polarik take a look at this.

He would be able to figure this out!

The fonts aren’t even the same.

I wonder if anyone found out the 1961 owner of the newspaper birth announcement home!!

We(someone) need to check a 1961 criss cross and see just who lived there.

Perhaps granny just used a good address to impress her friends with her son-in-law.

Interesting ... the Robertreece.blogspot.com website has been flagged as possibly violating blogger terms of service. Looks like Obamabots are trying to get the page pulled down. Yes ... the true sign of innocence: Trying to cover up stuff.
