I have a brand new 4 month old Grandson and his parents don’t want to send him to public school. They will either home school him or send him to Lutheran school.

Othniel wrote, “I would love to work at a Christian school, but truth be told, they pay peanuts.”

Socialized education pushes private education out of the market. As does socialized charity (welfare) and any other socialized activity. If government schools were phased out, many creative and diverse forms of education would spring up vital and entrepreneurial and customer-friendly.

The purpose of government schools is to mold the world-view and mindset of youngsters into collectivism. There is no way a child can protect his/her mind against those thousands of hours of subtle propaganda and brain-washing. Parents are exposing their children to weapons that the children are totally unable to withstand by sending them to these government propaganda institutions. Perhaps there are a few left which are not so far down the road, and perhaps the parents can judge that (tho I would suspect many parents don’t know all that takes place in the school day and also may not be sufficiently alert to recognize the subtle forms of influence.) But in general, schools are very successful at their goals. Rather than trying to force the leopard to change his spots, parents should fight against forceful funding of government socialized education.

Whoever controls those 14,000 hours controls our children's worldview," he said, citing Charles Francis Potter, a signer of the Humanist Manifesto. He wrote, "What can theistic Sunday school meeting for an hour once a week do to stem the tide of a five day program of humanist teaching?"

It is actually far **MORE** than 14,000 hours.

That 14,000 hours is merely seat time. We must also include time sitting on the bus, after school, and time in after school activities ( theater, band, jazz team, cheer leading, etc.) spent with other atheistic Marxist indocrtrinated students and teachers. The children also bring home Marxist textbooks and homework, and nihilistic reading assignments. Then there are all their Marxist friends with whom they play, e-mail, text message, and spend time with on the phone and Face Book, etc.

Then add up the actual amount of time a parent **really** has with his kids. His children sleep 9 to 11 hours a night. There is the: hectic morning schedule, time outside playing, time phone and texting friends, time on homework. Add up the time, and parents will see that there is really very little time in the day to undo the hours upon hours of atheistic Marxist indoctrination their children are receiving from their Marxist government school and from their Marxist indoctrinated friends.

To those idiot parents who say that their child's government school is different I say, "Yeah! Right!" (With appropriate eye roll.)

Exactly! It is like handing a kid a water pistol and saying, "Go fight that raging forest fire!"

In many Churches, Public School Teachers are a large and influential part of the membership and they certainly will not back a mass exodus from the Public Schools.

Exactly!

It isn't just the teachers sitting in the Christian church pews. Part of the problem is there are too many teachers, school employees, vendors supplying services and products to the schools, and the their families. There are also the people who benefit indirectly from the government schools. For instance my dentist and his 5 employees benefit from the dental insurance brought in by employees of our Marxist government schools.

Fe ministers are going to bite the hand that feeds the collection plate.

My children have only gone to Christian schools, but I’ll tell you — it’s getting to the point where we just don’t know how long we can continue to afford spending 18k/year. I’ll start selling our furniture first, but sheesh. We don’t take vacations. We don’t go to the movies. We still don’t have window treatments up in some parts of the house (just paper), but I’ll keep scraping together the money for as long as I can.

My kids went to public schools and were subjected to kids in large junior and senior high schools who thought it was 'uncool' to study and get good grades. Instead, partying was the big thing. Homeschooling was not being done at the time or I'd have tried it. The high school years can be a nightmare for concerned parents...

I am with you. On the one hand, I prefer my kids to stay inside my Christian bubble and not be subjected to indoctrination. On the other hand, I prefer them to hear that stuff, live in it, while I teach them the truth. In the end, I just lay them on Christ’s altar and send them to public school. I know they do and say ungodly things when I am not there, but they did that in Christian school too. Listen to Casting Crowns “Slow to Fade”. I will be working on that concept with my teens.

How old are they?

I will never forget when my kids were in public high school many years ago, and I was trying to correct their behavior. They told me they had 'rights' at home.

Please take note of the fact that the Messiah is not sending his children to public school. What hypocrites. It’s good enough for the Blacks but not for the elite Blacks (or Halfricans).

You shouldn’t let your children be used like this. Christian or not, they are children and lacking the wisdom and strength that comes from being an adult Christian. You are playing with fire my friend without the fire extinguisher.

I 100% agree with you. It is one thing for an adult to make the decision to be the salt of the earth and minister in ugly places like prisons and public schools. It is another thing to send your innocent children into battle in a place where the devil has a stranglehold. I honestly think parents who think this is a viable option must be uninformed about how bad it is these days. I taught in a public school for eight years and will never go back. Neither will my children.

Good point. So, what kind of milquetoast pastors do we have leading our Christian churches?

Or is there a more fundamental problem?

I taught Sunday School. You can easily undo it. In the first place, schools don't teach humanism non-stop throughout the day. Instead, here and there, there may be a few bad teachers that try to influence but the greatest problem is actually peer pressure, ie: to do drugs, sex, etc. Peer pressure is overcome by reinforcing God's principles in the Sunday School class and it WORKS.

The Romans tried to kill us all, but ended up with a Christian Emperor instead.

There is power in faith and prayer, and God's Spirit is at work everywhere in the world.

You’ve got it, man...

Kids are not equipped to fight against a system specifically designed to destroy their faith and indoctrinate them into state worship.

Equip and educate them at home, then fire your arrows (Psalm 127:3-5)
to be salt and light and fulfill the Great Commission.

To throw them to the wolves too early is to waste your arrows.

The purpose of government schools is to mold the world-view and mindset of youngsters into collectivism.

What ever happened to reading, writing, and arithmetic? You make today's classroom sound like a citizen rehabilitation class in Hanoi. A good Sunday School teacher can overcome all of that in five minutes, such is the power of God's Word. Just make sure all of your kids go to Sunday School every Sunday and spend time talking with them about what the learned in school each day. The danger for the secularist atheist society is that they have to interact with US. Thousands of kids are won to Christ every year by Christian friends who pray for them and invite them to... Sunday School.

Whatever the risks of being hypnotized by socialism, we cannot simply run away. We are called to be the "light of the world" and "so let your light shine before men." This is no time for fear and cowardice.
