IIRC, the Southern Baptist Convention nearly passed a resolution calling for their members to remove their children from public schools.

There’s hope for the Republic yet, ‘mongst the ‘bitter clingers’.

This, of course, would be a huge mistake.

I like tradition, so it cuts against the grain, but we can never just give up and walk away.

Christians are not called to hide themselves from the world or to become outraged over the lack of "Silent Night" in a school program. We are called to be the "salt of the earth." This whole concept of forcing Christianity through the school-house door also has the Pandora's box backlash of opening up the door to Islamics. If Christians have rights inside school, why not the Islamics? If Christians as Mr. Sekulow would have it, can post a bulletin in the school hall bulletin board announcing Bible School, doesn't that mean that Muslims can do the same? We are unwittingly litigating rights for Muslims, Bhuddists, and who knows what else.

Its much better for Christians to interact with non-Christians in public schools on a person-to-person basis and leave the Bible teaching and honoring Christ to Sunday School where it belongs. So many students have been reached by Christian friends who have prayed and led them to Christ.

If we withdraw from the world, we withdraw from the "Great Commission" which is to preach the Gospel to the world.

Fight against the foolish teachings of evolution theory, but don't stop going to public schools because they won't play "Silent Night."

My children have only gone to Christian schools, but I’ll tell you — it’s getting to the point where we just don’t know how long we can continue to afford spending 18k/year. I’ll start selling our furniture first, but sheesh. We don’t take vacations. We don’t go to the movies. We still don’t have window treatments up in some parts of the house (just paper), but I’ll keep scraping together the money for as long as I can.

If the Nancy Pelosicrats had their way, the government wouldn't just be teaching our kids, they would replace families with communes and force all of our kids to be vegan-atheists.

I hope great men like Governor Sanford will be able to restore American Christian virtues.

Christians called to abandon public education

I've been saying this for years. The individual churches should set up organizations to help their members to home school with an aim to setting up schools at the larger churches. Almost all of our founders were educated at home by their mothers from the Bible and look how they turned out. But we must be ever vigilant over our children for there are people in the church leadership who are in it for the power over others and the money.

The main reason we are in the trouble we are in is because we the people have not kept a close eye on those we have elected and the ones they have appointed. Like a pack of fools when the MSM stepped up and told us they would do the watching for us we trusted them and fell for their con-job. The MSM is in cahoots with politicians. Where do you think most that campaign money gets spent, with the media. And they claim that they are not biased to the one who pays them the most.

I have a brand new 4 month old Grandson and his parents don’t want to send him to public school. They will either home school him or send him to Lutheran school.

Whoever controls those 14,000 hours controls our children's worldview," he said, citing Charles Francis Potter, a signer of the Humanist Manifesto. He wrote, "What can theistic Sunday school meeting for an hour once a week do to stem the tide of a five day program of humanist teaching?"

It is actually far **MORE** than 14,000 hours.

That 14,000 hours is merely seat time. We must also include time sitting on the bus, after school, and time in after school activities ( theater, band, jazz team, cheer leading, etc.) spent with other atheistic Marxist indocrtrinated students and teachers. The children also bring home Marxist textbooks and homework, and nihilistic reading assignments. Then there are all their Marxist friends with whom they play, e-mail, text message, and spend time with on the phone and Face Book, etc.

Then add up the actual amount of time a parent **really** has with his kids. His children sleep 9 to 11 hours a night. There is the: hectic morning schedule, time outside playing, time phone and texting friends, time on homework. Add up the time, and parents will see that there is really very little time in the day to undo the hours upon hours of atheistic Marxist indoctrination their children are receiving from their Marxist government school and from their Marxist indoctrinated friends.

To those idiot parents who say that their child's government school is different I say, "Yeah! Right!" (With appropriate eye roll.)

Please take note of the fact that the Messiah is not sending his children to public school. What hypocrites. It’s good enough for the Blacks but not for the elite Blacks (or Halfricans).

I meant to ping this out a few days ago. It is a good article and gives (even) more evidence that public schools are not a good place to send children to be educated, unless one is a leftist/atheist/secularist/Democrat who would be happy if one's children came home and announced "I'm gay" or "I've become an atheist". There is a vigorous discussion of which I have not read all, there is some disagreement. But as far as I am concerned, the evidence is overwhelming that public schools are indeed indoctrination centers. No doubt about it. Maybe the odd school here or there in far corners of the US might have non-liberal teachers, but the text books themselves are riddled and saturated with leftist dogma. I've seen them, have homeschooled children in the past and seen the text books over the years. Even in the 80s the school books were rife with leftist dogma, and it's much, much worse now.
